Is Chef Edward Lee the new permanent judge on MasterChef?
February 23rd, 2016 under Gordon Ramsay. [ Comments: none ]

Late last night, Gordan Ramsay posted a photo (that has now been removed) and said, “Had a blast today with @christinatosi & @chefedwardlee on set @masterchefonfox.” So is Chef Lee replacing Graham Elliot, who announced he was leaving the reality competition cooking show back in December? An email to Fox has gone unanswered, so I don’t know. I am not sure if he is going to be a permanent judge or a guest one on the show, we will just have to wait until Fox announces what their plans for MasterChef and MasterChef Junior.
So who is Chef Edward Lee? The 43 year old Korean-American was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, but a trip to Louisville, Ky changed his life forever. The self-taught Chef bought the restaurant 601 Magnolia and added his own flavor to the place. Since then it has been featured in several highly regarded Cooking magazines. Lee is no stranger to television, he has been featured on Iron Chef, Top Chef and The Mind of a Chef.

Graham Elliot is no longer a MasterChef
December 19th, 2015 under Gordon Ramsay. [ Comments: 5 ]

Graham Elliot announced on Twitter that he is departing MasterChef and MasterChef Junior, leaving Gordon Ramsay as the only original judge on the cooking competition show.
I am sad to see him go because he brought a certain warmth to the show that the others didn’t. That and I wish it was Christina Tosi was the one who was departing, she just comes off as cold and unlikable to me.
No word who will be replacing him, but I hope it is someone who has the compassion and passion that he has.

MasterChef Junior’s Chefs covered in frosting, Grimm does Peter Pan!

Tonight’s MasterChef Junior on Fox at 8p is the frosting on top of your week. Mostly because the 3 Chefs will be covered in it.
Then 3 MasterChef Juniors, who won last last week’s challenge, are given a very sweet one. Jordan, Sam and Jesse have to frost 60 cupcakes in 10 minutes and the one who does the most perfectly will save their Chef from not being covered in the delicious sugary topping. When the time us up, there is only one winner. Technically 2 because one of the Chefs gets to watch his cohort get covered with pounds of frosting.
After Gordon Ramsay, Gordon Graham and Christina Tosi are cleaned up, it is time for the elimination challenge. The young Chefs need to shuck their own scallops and prepare a meal for their bosses with the sweet fish. This challenge is tougher than you think. One of the kids will have problem opening them and another will burn them in the final seconds. Will that cause them to be eliminated or will they do enough to stay in the game?
You will have to tune to find out on episode that is so sweet it will give you a cavity.

Then at 9p over at NBC, it is time for Grimm. Four foster kids, who ran away from the system, kidnapped a woman several years ago and made her their mother. When she is murdered they decide to replace them with Rosalee (Bree Turner). Now, Monroe (David Giuntoli), Nick (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) have to find her before he it is too late. Will they be able to do it? You don’t want to miss this thrilling episode to find out.
Make sure to watch the episode until the end because someone we haven’t seen in while is bacl. Do you think you know who?

MasterChef Junior cooks up another sweet season!
November 6th, 2015 under Gordon Ramsay. [ Comments: none ]

MasterChef Junior is back on Fox tonight at 8p and you don’t want to miss the yummiest show on television.
Gordon Ramsay, Gordon Graham and Christina Tosi welcome 24 kids between the ages of 8-12 in to their kitchen and from day one they can cook better than most of us.
Their first task is to get their aprons from a giant Pinata of Gordon Ramsay’s head. Once they put on their aprons, it is time to cook. Their first challenge is making a burger. I highly suggest having hamburgers for dinner tonight because you will be craving one after you see what they create.
As we know there can only be one winner of that challenge, and that person decides what their competitors cook for the elimination challenge. Since this is MasterChef Junior, they come up with an interesting way to tell the kids that they have to cook with marshmallows. I didn’t know until this episode that there were so many things you could do with the sticky yummy goodness. And yet not one of them made the obvious s’mores.
After the MasterChef Seniors taste all of the dishes, it time to send some of the kids home. Out of all of the elimination shows, this is the hardest one to watch. But it is also the sweetest because when the kids are sent home, their competition gives them a hug and tells they are going to be OK. And they will be because look at all they have accomplished in the short time they have been on Planet Earth.
When it comes to the judges, I was nervous about Tosi because she is cold and mean on MasterChef. Luckily she warms up on this show, and is more likable.
But she is only a small part of this show, and the big part is the pint size chefs with a huge cookbook of recipes. The biggest dish this show serves up is a sweetness that no other show on television can cook up.
Finally, I think this year a girl is going to win it all!

You won’t eat out after watching Kitchen Nightmares’ grossest moments
August 14th, 2015 under Gordon Ramsay. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEUa66Ofm5Q
Throughout the run of Kitchen Nightmares, Gordon Ramsay has seen a lot of disgusting things in many restaurants. So many, they were able to compile a lot of them in a nearly 5 minute video. If you don’t do what he did several times, then you have a much stronger stomach than me. I felt like I was watching a horror movie with a lot bugs because I covered my eyes through most of it.
I know the show is called Kitchen Nightmares, but I will be having nightmares in my bedroom tonight from this montage. Seriously, I am so grossed out now, I will only be eating at home from now on. That is one way to diet.
