NBC announced their Fall schedule today, and Lopez vs Lopez was not on it. So was the sitcom that stars George and Mayan Lopez, an actual father and daughter, cancelled?
Nope! We will get another round of cuteness from Brice Gonzalez in 2024! And I cannot wait to see the hijinx the little cutie causes during the second season.
Lopez vs Lopez is not the only show being held for the midseason; Law & Order: Criminal Intent, La Brea, Magnum, P.I., Password, Deal or No Deal Island, another America’s Got Talent spinoff, The Americas, and Transplant will debut later in the season.
While Lopez vs Lopez got the good news, Young Rock, American Auto, and Grand Crew are still waiting to find out their fate.
Tonight at 8:30p on NBC, it is a last call for Lopez vs Lopez. And hopefully, it won’t be the sitcom’s last call.
The season finale gets serious about George’s (George Lopez) drinking problem. All season long, they have been making jokes about it. But it has finally gotten to the point that he needs help.
So Mayan (Mayan Lopez) teams up with her mom and George’s ex (Selenis Leyva) to get him to stop. They think they have the perfect plan. But it backfires.
However, when his drinking lands him in the hospital, Mayan knows she needs to get her dad to stop. So she holds an intervention with her mom and her boyfriend (Matt Shively). Will they be able to get him to quit? Especially when we learn why he drinks as much as he does.
This episode reminds me of the very special episodes we used to get in the ’80s and ’90s. They do a good job tackling such a hard subject and still make us laugh.
And yes, cute little Chance (Brice Gonzalez) steals the episode. Just like he always does.
Even though it is this season’s last episode, it is still a great time to check out this show. And then you can watch the rest of the season. We need more family-focused sitcoms like this one, so watch so that it will be back in the fall.
George Lopez has a lot of friends in Hollywood. Tonight at 8p on NBC, he is bringing one of them on Lopez vs Lopez.
Rosie (Selenis Leyva) gets George a job interview at a company that is considering hiring his company to help them move. However, before they make the decision, she wants to talk to one more moving company. That company is run by George’s archnemesis Danny Trejo and his beautiful ponytail.
So who is going to get the job? They both do! How are they going to work together? You have to tune in to see because their fighting is hysterical.
George is not the only one having problems with a bucket crab. So is Mayan. His daughter is having issues with a stay-at-home mom (Melissa Fumero), who is icing her out of the moms’ group from Chance’s school. Holy Mole, you are going to want to see why they are looking up to the sky.
If you need to laugh, and who doesn’t, then you are going to want to watch Lopez vs Lopez! Make sure to stick around for Night Court at 8:30p.
I just have to say that Lopez vs Lopez has had some really cool guest stars. So I hope it gets a second season, so they can come back and visit again.
Lopez vs Lopez moves to its new night tonight at 8:30p on NBC. And you don’t want to miss it because it is the sitcom’s funniest episode so far!
Rosie (Selenis Leyva) decides to visit her daughter’s house, and she tells Mayan (Mayan Lopez) she is going to sell her engagement ring. When Rosie’s ex-husband (George Lopez) hears that, he claims that it is his ring and not hers.
There is only one way to settle this, and that is to go on the TV court show Corte Caliente. The Judge (People’s Court’s Marilyn Milian) is going to decide their case. And she is going to have to put up with all of their antics. Before she renders her decision, she has some big news to tell them. And you will never believe what it is. My jaw hit the floor.
And Chance (Brice Gonzalez), Mayan and Quinten’s (Matt Shively) son, is going to hit the dance floor to learn Folklorico. It is a Mexican tradition that Rosie passed on to her daughter with George, and now Mayan is passing to machete to her son. And he doesn’t want to do it. But, since he is a minor, he has no choice but to take the lessons. Unfortunately, he is so bad at it that even his teacher doesn’t want him to do it. So Mayan will prove to her son that if she can do it, he can do it. Will he finally become a Folklorico dancer?
I can’t tell you that. But I can tell you that Gonzalez is the cutest child star in a long time. Even though the series is hysterical, he is the reason why you should tune in. He steals every scene he is in. And that is not easy to do because he is surrounded by several comedic stars. Well, that and the show makes me laugh every time I watch it. And I have seen every enjoyable episode.
And we need you to watch. Because I have a feeling NBC wants to see how well it does paired up with Night Court before deciding whether to renew or cancel it. And I want them to pick it up for another season. Because it is all about me!
