October 13th, 2009 under Game Shows. [ Comments: 2 ]

Tonight on GSN at 6p George Takei and his husband Brad Altman will make television history as the first same-sex couple to play on The Newlywed Game. Can you believe it took a third of a century to make this happen? Hopefully they are the first of many same-sex coupes to appear on the show!
The Newlywed Game just started its second season yesterday and besides the regular newlyweds who share the oddest places they made whoopee, Davy Jones of The Monkees and his brand-new wife, Telemundo actress Jessica Pacheco; dance pros Edyta ÅšliwiÅ„ska and Alec Mazo (“Dancing with the Stars”); former Denver Broncos linebacker Glenn Cadrez and his wife, Playmate Brande Roderick; Greg Vaughan (“General Hospital”) and his actress-model wife Touriya Haoud; Christopher Knight (“The Brady Bunch”) and Adrianne Curry (“America’s Next Top Model”); husband-and-wife team Damien Gurganius and Nicole Brewer (“The Biggest Loser”); Jonny Fairplay (“Survivor”) and Michelle Deighton (“America’s Next Top Model”); “Biggest Loser” couple Suzy Preston and Matt Hoover; Lauri Waring and George Peterson (“Real Housewives of Orange County”); Kristy Swanson and Lloyd Eisler (“Skating with Celebrities”); Erik Huffman and Jaime Dugan (“Survivor: China”); and Ronn Moss (“The Bold and the Beautiful”) and Devin DeVasquez (actress-model and former Playboy Playmate) will also be on appearing on the show this season.
Make sure to stick around after TNG at 6:30p to watch Alfonso Ribeiro’s Catch 21 that just started its third season!

The Price is Right for laughs at $69!!!
May 8th, 2009 under Game Shows. [ Comments: none ]

via The Live Feed
So earlier in the week on The Price is Right, Dr Bummer was anything but when he guessed the price of the diamond pendant as $69. What will make you laugh even harder is that Dr Bummer is a gynecologist which makes you wonder what his obsession with the number 69 is…especially when he was wearing a shirt with the number 99 on it which was the actually price of the pendant!!!

CBS thinking to Let’s Make a Deal with The Dating Game?
May 5th, 2009 under Game Shows. [ Comments: none ]

CBS is considering bringing back Let’s Make a Deal and/or The Dating Game to replace the cancelled Guiding Light according to Variety. While I hate to see any Soap Opera die, I kind of like the idea of game shows coming back to daytime. I miss those original game shows that used to be all over daytime like the two they are considering bringing back! Granted my opinion might totally change once they name who will be hosting these shows…

Seriously Carnie Wilson is hosting The Newlywed Game?
February 4th, 2009 under Game Shows. [ Comments: 1 ]

WTF was GSN thinking by giving Carnie Wilson the hosting job for their updated version of The Newlywed Game? But according to KCBS that's is what they did. Seriously was there no else out there who was more qualified? I just don't get it. The only thing Carnie ever does is talk about her weight and that has what to do with newlywed couples? That her personality just annoys me for some reason. Game Show host are suppose to be likeable and there is just something about her that isn't just that.
The show went from my might check outto I am not going to watch it on April 6th.

GSN bringing back The Newlywed Game!
December 20th, 2008 under Game Shows. [ Comments: none ]

GSN is remaking The Newlywed Game in a modern way according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Marriage has changed over the years — what couples talk about, what they fight about,” said Davies, a fan of the original. “So there will be a lot of updating just by the fact of our casting. In doing presentations, it’s become clear to us that wives today are far more vocal than in the previous episodes. There’s just a lot of guys looking concerned that they’re about to get in trouble — and usually they do. It’s thoroughly entertaining.”
Davies added that he’s also casting for what he calls “goldyweds” — couples who appeared on the original show — to compete against the newlyweds. Like the original, the new show will feature couples who have been married for two years or less.

As of now GSN has only 40 episodes of the show that is premiering in Febrauary, but I have a feeling they will be ordering a lot more! That is if is as good as the original!
