Watch Charlie Rowe get his head shaved for Red Band Society

Yesterday we fell in love with Red Band Society, and a big part of that admiration is because of how Charlie Rowe plays his loveable character. Leo is fighting cancer and he’s taking Chemo to beat it. As we know if you get chemotherapy, there is a good chance you are going to lose your hair. Leo is one of those people who has gone bald because of it. That means Rowe had to do the same, and Fox just released this video of the big day. We have seen actresses like Shailene Woodley and Karen Gillan get very nervous as they cut off their long locks for movies, and it’s nice to see male actors feel the same way about going under the razor.
I don’t know what surprised me more about this video, how cute Rowe is with hair (don’t get me wrong he still looks good bald) or that he’s English? What surprised you more?

Join the Red Band Society tonight

Red Band Society debuts on Fox tonight at 9p and this is a show you want to check in to.
It is the story of six teenagers trapped in a hospital with debilitating health issues, and they aren’t going to let that stop them from living life to the fullest.
Leo (Charlie Rowe) is the makeshift leader of the group. He has cancer and it has taken his leg. He is the one that brings everyone together and the one they listen to.
Dash (Astro) is Leo’s best friend and he has Cystic fibrosis. He is the cool one.
Charlie (Griffin Gluck) has been in there the longest. Even though he is in a coma that doesn’t stop him from being part of the group.
Tonight he gets a new roommate. Kara (Zoe Levin) is a bitchy cheerleader who doesn’t seem to have a heart. But we find out she does have one because she needs a new one.
Emma (Ciara Bravo) is anorexic, and up until Kara arrived, she was the only girl there. She had all of the boys’ attention and now she has to share it.
Finally, there’s Jordi (Nolan Sotillo) and he is the newest member of the society because he finagles his way into the hospital. Just like Leo has cancer in the leg and doctors are going to have to remove it. Before the doctors take it, the Red Band Society throws him one last party for it.
This is there story of living life to the fullest even though the odds are against them.
Since this is a hospital, there is a staff there to make sure they are taken care of. Nurse Jackson (Octavia Spencer) is the tough one who doesn’t take their crap, but she really cares. Just like Dr McAndrew (Dave Annable) who wants to see his patients make it out of there alive. They let the kids get away with a lot, but they do set some limits.
Red Band Society will make you laugh, warm your heart and bring a few tears to your eyes. It is a drama unlike anything else on television. Sometimes we need a change from the ordinary, and this drama is it.

Fox cancels Hieroglyph months before it was going to air
July 1st, 2014 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Back in May, Fox announced that Fox’s Chairman of Entertainment, Kevin Reilly, was stepping down at the end of the June. Yesterday, on the last day of the month, they announced the first show that he gave his thumbs up for that will not be airing. That show was Hieroglyph. The midseason replacement was set to be a sexy tale during Ancient Egypt times and was picked up before the network even saw a pilot. According to Entertainment Weekly the first episode was shot, and producers talked to Fox about the others ones. It was then that the network decided not to move forward with it. Personally, I think they made the right choice because the show would’ve bombed. That era doesn’t do well on television.
Too bad Fox doesn’t have Almost Human to fill that airtime because they cancelled the fan favorite in place of this failed show that won’t even air.

Fox no longer thinks I Wanna Marry Harry is a Riot
June 12th, 2014 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Fox has decided to pull the very very very low rated shows Riot and I Wanna Marry Harry from their lineup effective immediately according to The Hollywood Reporter, and no one can blame them. Tuesday’s episode of Harry wasn’t even seen by a million people. That has to be the lowest a show has ever done on a weekday on one of the Big 4 networks ever. Which is kind of sad because I thought it was the series’ best episode yet. Now if you are like me, then you want to know what happens when the imposter tells then that he is not Harry. And you will be able to find out when Fox puts the remaining episodes on OnDemand, Hulu, Fox.com and Fox’s App starting tomorrow.
Now when it comes to Riot, it was anything but its title.

Fox makes an almost human decision about Kevin Reilly
May 29th, 2014 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Fox announced today that Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, is stepping down from his position by the end of June.
The announcement is not a surprise because their ratings were going down almost as fast as the Titanic did this season. American Idol revamped their show to get more viewers, but the over 40 judging panel caused the show to lose almost a 1/3rd of the viewers they had during their peek. Then there is Glee that saw it’s viewership down to less than 3 million viewers. And yet that show was renewed and Almost Human that saw twice as many viewers was not. On the Almost Human note, the cult cop show was seen by more people than The Following, a show about a cult, and that too was renewed while AH wasn’t. And I think the final nail in his ratings coffin was this Tuesday when I Wanna Marry Harry was seen by just over 1 million people. That is The CW numbers, so that is really really bad for Fox. And I am knocking The CW because I love that network.
While he was ratings challenged this season, I think his other mistake was getting rid of pilot season. As soon as he said that at the Winter TCAs, I knew he was out. And now a few months later he is gone,
What this all mean for Fox’s fall, it is too early to tell. But I do expect that there will be some changes. I also think that there needs to be some changes if they want to keep the network viable. I mean other than Mondays, when they have on Gotham and Sleepy Hollow, I think their lineup is in big trouble. So I really think they will be making some changes. Hopefully it will be picking up the cancelled Almost Human and maybe Enlisted, Surviving Jack and/or Dads and putting them back on the air. Jack did better than Mindy in the ratings and yet she still has a show.
