The Sweet Transvestite is back for Fox’s Rocky Horror Picture Show!
January 15th, 2016 under Fox, Laverne Cox. [ Comments: none ]

Every time Fox announces who is going to star in their updated version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, I cringe. Adam Lambert is no Meat Loaf, Victoria Justice is no Susan Sarandon and Laverne Cox is definitely no Tim Curry.
But then Fox made an announcement today that did not make my blood not boil, instead it made my blood and other body parts tingle. What you dare ask? They are doing a Time Warp of sorts and bringing back the extremely sexy Tim Curry to star as the Criminologist Narrator. Just to hear this news has my Thing singing toucha, toucha, touch me. Maybe there is hope for the musical that debuts this fall, what do you think?
In other Fox news, Empire and Scream Queens will be back for another season.

Fox teases us with Grease: Live
November 24th, 2015 under Fox. [ Comments: 1 ]

When I heard Fox was doing Grease, I got excited. Then I read that they cast Julianne Hough as Sandy, and I lost all interest. She destroys every movie she is in, which is why they all bombed and she is no longer cast as lead in them. If her acting was the only bad thing about her, I could maybe deal with her in Grease. But she can only sing Country as we learned in Rock of Ages. There is no way that she is going to be able sing Sandy’s songs. Sandy needs to be a triple threat and Hough is only a single one.
Which is probably why Fox is only showing us them doing the Handjive and we aren’t hearing them sing quite yet. Are you excited for Grease: Live on January 31st?

Gobble up Granfathered and The Grinder’s Thanksgiving episodes!
November 24th, 2015 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Jimmy (John Stamos) is used to spending Thanksgiving with a model in Malibu; but now that he has a son and granddaughter, he wants to spend it with them. Well at least part of it. That is until he meets Sara’s (Paget Brewster) ex Bruce (Andy Daly), who was like a father to Gerald (Josh Peck) until his real dad came into his life.
How will Jimmy handle meeting the man who helped raise his son? As bad as you would expect him to and you don’t want to miss it.
Tonight’s episode of Grandfathered on Fox at 8p is the first one where you really start to see a change in Jimmy. If the show continues to do endearing episodes like this one, it deserves to get a second season.

Then at 8:30p on The Grinder, it looks like Dean (Rob Lowe) is finally going to get the family Thanksgiving he so desperately wants. Only problem is his brother Stewart (Fred Savage) doesn’t like celebrating the holiday since their parents got a divorce. Well, that is not the real reason, he walked in on his mom and his dad’s business partner in a compromising position on Turkey Day and the holiday was forever ruined for him. Dean not only convinces his brother to host Thanksgiving, but to tell his dad (William Devane) what happened that night a few years ago. How will his dad react? Let’s just say his sons will never be the same.
Also on tonight’s episode we find out why Dean is no longer doing The Grinder. A reveal that keeps on giving, so you don’t want to miss it. Nor do you want to miss this episode that is full of shocking moments. The biggest one comes at the end and next week’s episode can’t come soon enough. It is that enticing.

Fox completely messes with their schedule
November 10th, 2015 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Thank Gd for DVRs because that is the only way you are going to know when your favorite shows are on Fox come January. As we know Fox has not been having a good Fall, so since it is broke they are going to try to fix it. They will be doing that by changing the timeslots of most of their shows, add some news one and hold 2 indefinitely.
Is that the fix? We shall see. But I don’t think it is because there is too much television to choose from. If you don’t know when your show is going to air, then how much will you care to find it? We shall see.

The truth comes out in funny ways on Grandfathered and The Grinder

Jimmy gets caught in a lie on Grandfathered at 8p on Fox and you don’t want to miss how he gets out of it.
Jimmy (John Stamos) is babysitting his granddaughter when his son Gerald (Josh Peck) calls and asks him to do a huge favor. Gerald and his baby mama Vanessa can’t get out of their parking spot, so they ask Jimmy to take Edie to the open house at the daycare they want to send her to. At first he refuses, but then he decides to go.
As he is parking the car, he meets the beautiful admissions’ lady (JoAnna Garcia) and he tells her that he is Edie’s father instead of her grandfather to impress her. The two of them hit it off and now he thinks his granddaughter is a shoe-in to get. But she isn’t. That is until Gerald arrives and introduces himself as the Edie’s dad. Everyone at the school thinks that Gerald and Jimmy are a couple and not father and son. Now the school is interested in Edie.
How far will Gerald and Jimmy go to keep their lie going to get her into the school. You will just have to tune in to find out. And also to find out how badly Jimmy screws things up.
Tonight’s Grandfathered is the best episode since the pilot, so you definitely don’t want to miss it.

Then at 8:30p, Stewart (Fred Savage) decides to fix up his brother Dean (Rob Lowe) with his prom date Gail (Christina Applegate) and The Grinder doesn’t object. Things go so well between the former flames, that Dean decides he wants to be a father to her son. Stewart and Debbie (Mary Elizabeth Ellis) can’t wait to meet this boy, so they agree to a double date with the on again/off again couple. Just as they are enjoying dinner, they get a surprise that is so shocking you don’t want to miss it. What can it be? You will just have to watch to find out.
