Are Fox’s Justice and Happy Hour the first fall casualties? |

As part of a flurry of last-minute scheduling changes, FOX has placed its freshman comedy "Happy Hour" on hiatus until after its October baseball coverage. New episodes then are expected to resume on Thursday, November 2 at 8:30/7:30c. Repeats of "’Til Death" will instead fill in for the show’s previously announced broadcasts before the baseball break – Thursday, September 28 at 8:30/7:30c ("The Ring and I," a new episode of "Happy") and Sunday, October 1 at 7:30/6:30c (a repeat of "Happy’s" pilot). Also getting an early exit: fellow newbie "Justice." The show’s October 4 airing has been bumped in favor of a repeat of "House" that night at 9:00/8:00c. Said development makes its September 27 broadcast its last new installment before its baseball-induced hiatus. To soften the blow however FOX has added a repeat of "Justice’s" pilot on Friday, September 29 at 8:00/7:00c, trimming the previously-planned two-hour season finale of "Celebrity Duets" to just one hour in the process. The news comes as both series hit ratings lows against its "premiere week" competition. So far this season (based on fast national numbers), "Happy" is down 34.78% in households and 32% in adults 18-49 from its premiere while "Justice" is off 37.29% in households and 36.67% in adults 18-49 from its bow.
The Futon Critic
The two new shows on Fox I do not watch, so I will not miss them if they are gone. I do feel bad about Celebrity Duets having their two hour finale cut down to an hour. On a ratings update Men in Trees kept it’s audience, but fell to third place against Close to Home (not as good either this season) and Dateline. With that said I do not get the axe this week.

Gale Harold Vanishing from TV and Suddenly appearing on off-Broadway |

Gale Harold, currently doing his darndest to crack a labyrinthine mystery on Fox’s freshman thriller Vanished, is joining Carla Gugino and Blythe Danner for the off-Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams’ Suddenly Last Summer, starting previews Oct. 20, Playbill.com reports. Gee, how will Gale ever juggle a New York City stage gig and his front-and-center role on Vanished?
Matt Vitovich
WTF is Fox thinking? I still say the show will be cancelled before Eddie Cibrian joins the show.

Despite the added competition, Fox’s Prison Break held up. Prison Break opened with a 6.1/ 9 in the overnights (#3), 9.43 million viewers (#3) and a 3.9/11 among adults 18-49 (#2) at 8 p.m. Considerably less impressive, however, was lead-out Vanished, with a fourth-place finish in the overnights (5.4/ , total viewers (7.45 million) and adults 18-49 (2.7/ 6). Retention for Vanished out of Prison Break (opposite season premieres on ABC, CBS and NBC) was 89 percent in the overnights, 79 percent in total viewers and just 69 percent among adults 18-49.
Marc Berman
With the rumor going around that Gale Harold will be replaced, I am not as upset that the show will most likely get the ax when it is time for 24 to return. Gale and Ming-Na are the only two on this show who can act, so I can not believe they want to get rid of him for Eddie Cibrian. Not that Eddie can’t act, but why can’t we have two hot guys on one show?

The O.C. actress Rachel Bilson has bashed the show that made her a star and insists the teen drama has run its course. Bilson, who plays Summer Roberts on the series, believes four seasons of portraying life in the posh Southern California beach community are enough. The 25-year-old, who dates co-star Adam Brody, says, "I just feel like the show is over. I’m so happy for everything that it’s brought me…but I think we’re all ready to move on."
Starpulse
She is such a schmuck because she will barely work after the show is over. She better do like Katie Holmes and find herself a Tom Cruise because that is where her career is going!

Vanished gets 3 script pickup |

Fox is giving "Vanished" an early vote of confidence, ordering three additional scripts of the new missing-person drama. While no guarantee of a full-season pickup, move is a sign that net execs are encouraged by the show’s early ratings. Skein inched up a tad in its second airing Aug. 28; its third episode aired last night.Josh Berman created "Vanished," which hails from 20th Century Fox TV.
Variety
This means nothing because Fox also ordered additional scripts for Reunion and they cancelled that show. There is also a rumor Gale Harold will be replaced by Eddie Cibrian, if that is the case I am done with Vanished.
