I’m not sure about you, but I don’t recall the last time I saw Fergie. However, the singer came out to support her friend Lena Dunham tonight, who is promoting her Netflix show Too Much.
Do you know what? Even though we haven’t seen the 50-year-old for a while, it’s as if no time has passed, because she hasn’t aged since she was in Wild Orchid in the late ’90s. I need to know her secret!
Less than 24 hours after Fergie’s disastrous performance of the Star Spangled Banner, she has issued a statement about her heavily mocked performance at the NBA All-Star Game.
“I’ve always been honored and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA. I’m a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone. I love this country and honestly tried my best.”
If that is her best, who wants to her hear worst? I mean who sexes up the National Anthem? Even Marilyn Monroe would not do that and she was better at sexying up a song.zzzzzz
Fergie sang the Star Spangled Banner at the NBA All-Star game tonight, and her performance was not considered an all-star. I get it, you want to change up the song. But this is not American Idol, just sing it as it. We all want to move on. You ain’t going to suddenly create a new version that everyone else is going to do from now on. The national anthem is over 200 years old, it is what it is.
Oh and instead of dragging it out even more, give it some tempo and make it go by faster! That is all we want.
Back in the ’80s, Fergie was one of the Kids Incorporated, a totally rad show that had the stars singing other people’s songs. Now 30 years later, she will be hosting another show where the singers will be singing other people’s songs.
Fox announced today that she will be hosting their new singing competition show The Four: Battle for Stardom. The 6-episode event, that starts in January 4th, also includes Sean Combs, DJ Khaled, Meghan Trainor and Record Label Executive Charlie Walk as panelists. The basic principle of the show is that it starts out with 4 singers, who they believe are the best. Each week, several other singers will try to take their spot. If they do, then the the person they beat is outed and they stay. This will keep happening until there is only one winner.
