Would you eat a Chicken Big Mac?
August 19th, 2022 under Fast Food. [ Comments: none ]

Ever since McDonald’s started selling the Big Mac, it has had two all-beef patties inside of it. However, they might be adding a fried chicken version to the menu.

Right now, the fast food company is testing out the sandwich in select Miami restaurants. According to The Washington Post it does well, then they will launch it nationwide as they have down in the United Kingdom.

So, I have a request for my friends, family, and strangers in Miami; please try it out because I need to have one. And this is all about my needs and not yours. Although, I bet you are just as curious as I am about it.

Papa Johns is selling a pizza without the crust
August 18th, 2022 under Fast Food. [ Comments: none ]

Are you trying to cut down on carbs but still be able to eat pizza? Then Papa Johns just turned your dieting nightmare into a dream. That is because they got rid of the crust and are selling everything you get on top of it in a bowl.

“We are very excited to offer Papa Bowls as a new menu category and as a new way consumers can experience our premium ingredients,” said Scott Rodriguez, Papa Johns Senior Vice President of Menu Strategy and Product Innovation. “Our signature crust continues to be a beloved favorite, but we know that sometimes customers crave something different. We want them to know we are committed to delivering on all of those cravings through our menu.”

On Monday, they have three different bowls joining the menu for $7.99 each.

  • Italian Meats Trio features signature pizza and alfredo sauces, layered with Papa Johns signature pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, green peppers, onions and tomatoes. Topped with three melty cheeses and sprinkled with Italian seasoning.
  • Chicken Alfredo features creamy alfredo and garlic parmesan sauces and juicy grilled chicken, complete with spinach, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes, then topped with a melty three cheese blend and Italian seasoning.
  • Garden Veggie includes spinach, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, tomatoes and banana peppers baked in a bowl with Papa Johns signature pizza sauce and garlic parmesan, covered in three melty cheeses and topped with Italian seasoning.

Part of me is curious about the bowls because sometimes I wonder what crustless pizza tastes like. But is it really pizza if there is no crust? Are you willing to find out?

Pumpkin Spice season is upon us….

Krispy Kreme

Remember when Fall started after Labor Day? Well, at Krispy Kreme, Pumpkin Spice, aka Autumn, will be done by then.

Yesterday, the donut shop launched its Pumpkin Spice menu which includes four donuts (one new one) and two new coffee drinks.

  • NEW Pumpkin Spice Latte Swirl Doughnut: A Pumpkin Spice Doughnut dipped in a pumpkin spice/sugar blend and topped with a swirl of vanilla and coffee buttercream.
  • Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed® Doughnut: A classic Original Glazed doughnut with a pumpkin spice twist.
  • Pumpkin Spice Original Filled Cheesecake Doughnut: A Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed doughnut with creamy cheesecake filling decorated with cheesecake icing.
  • Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut: A perfectly spiced old-fashioned cake doughnut covered in iconic glaze.
  • Pumpkin Spice Latte: A latte flavored with pumpkin pie sauce, topped with whipped cream and pumpkin spice seasoning – available hot, iced or frozen.
  • NEW Pumpkin Spice Iced Coffee: Iced Coffee blended with pumpkin pie sauce.
  • Why are they starting the season before most kids are back in school? “Sure, pumpkin spice is generally associated with fall, but true fans of the flavor will agree that August is close enough! So, we’re pulling fall forward, enabling our guests to indulge and enjoy early with delicious pumpkin spice doughnuts and drinks, including our Pumpkin Spice Latte, which you can get iced or frozen, by the way,” said Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme.

If Krispy Kreme debuts its Peppermint menu in September, I will boycott them. Not really, but I will say I will. I will do it because if now they will start celebrating Easter in January, and if the Groundhog hasn’t foreshadowed how many weeks until Spring, we cannot celebrate the season then. That sounded like a gpod excuse, didn’t it?

Back to this month’s donuts, you can get a free Pumpkin Spice one with any purchase today only.

The Mexican Pizza will be back at Taco Bell in September!
August 3rd, 2022 under Fast Food. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 2020, Taco Bell removed the Mexican Pizza from its menu because it was complicated to make during the pandemic. Then, in mid-May, it was back on for two weeks before it was gone again. Why? Because it was selling out all over the country, and they didn’t have enough ingredients to keep up with the supply.

Since then, people have been wondering when they can run to the border again, and now we know.

“It’s going to be relaunched mid-September, and it’s going to be a permanent item,” Taco Bell CEO Mark King told Fortune. “I had more feedback—hate mail!—over the removal of Mexican pizza [than any other time].”

Most excellent news! And hopefully, now, we will finally get that Dolly Parton musical for the item they promised us.

One last note, I got one of the Mexican Pizzas when they were back. And it was really yummy, so I can’t wait to have another one because yo quiero Taco Bell!

Has Mark Hamill hit hard times?
    August 2nd, 2022 under Fast Food, Star Wars. [ Comments: 6 ]

Mark Hamill was seen working a Jack in the Box drive-thru, so has the beloved actor hit hard times? I mean, now that Star Wars has moved beyond Luke Skywalker, he probably needs the money.

However, the actor doesn’t. You see, before we all knew his name, he worked at the fast food restaurant. One day when they asked him to work the drive-thru, he used a clown’s voice to take the orders. Guess what? His bosses didn’t find it funny, so they fired him.

Well, the Big Head at Jack in the Box heard about his firing and thought he would make it up to the star. So, after 52 years, they invited him back to work behind the window and let him use any voice he wanted.

How did he do? Everyone loved it! But it could be because they realized who the Joker is, and who doesn’t love him besides Darth Vader?

So, should we drive around trying to find that one store he works at? Nope, he is good now. So good, he is now doing commercials for them.
