Go to The Futon Critic for the full list!

On the whole I am not in love with the Emmy noms because for the most part they went to critically acclaimed, low watched shows that air on cable or to actors who started out on the big screen. But then there was some nice surprises that had me clapping like Family Guy, Jim Parsons for The Big Bang Theory, Christina Applegate for Samantha Who?, Chandra Wilson for The Accidental Friendship, Family Guy, William Shatner and Christian Clemenson for Boston Legal, Kristin Chenoweth for Pushing Daisies, Neil Patrick Harris for How I Met Your Mother, So You Think You Can Dance’s Bleeding Love number and finally Family Guy and How I Met Your Mother for Best Comedy!!!
OMFG I would love to have been in the room when Seth MacFarlane found out that Family Guy was finally nominated for its much deserved Emmy! Can you tell how ecstatic I am that Family Guy, the little show that could, was nominated!!!!
What I also loved about this years Emmys are the names that are missing!!! Katherine Heigl, who complained that the writers didn’t write for, so when they gave her a brain tumor the Emmy voters didn’t care! Mr Mercury Poisoning Jeremy Piven was not nominated for playing himself, he must be so p!ssed!!! America Ferrera is seconds closer to her 15 minutes being up because she wasn’t nominated again for Ugly Betty!!! Hey ABC you kept Ugly Betty that got you one nom and cancelled Samantha Who?, Boston Legal and Pushing Daisies that got you 4 noms together. Maybe next time listen to us before you ax a show, we know what the Emmy voters like!!!
There are some bummers for me of people who weren’t nominated like Cat Deeley for So You Think You Can Dance, Gale Harold for Desperate Housewives (just cause I would like to see him in a tux, Bones, Rescue Me and ER for an amazing final season.
Largely because of Family Guy and Neil Patrick Harris hosting the show, I can’t wait to watch the Emmys on September 20th on CBS!!!

Jimmy Kimmel gets a pre-Emmy show!

Jimmy Kimmel did the Oscars and now he is doing the Emmys! Kimmel will be hosting a Emmy pre-show on ABC at 7p called Jimmy Kimmel’s Big Night of Stars and it is full of stars!

Packed with hilarious comedy bits and a house band led by Jimmy’s childhood best friend, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” features a diverse lineup of guests that includes celebrities, athletes, musicians, comedians and humorous human interest subjects. Each night, Jimmy delivers up-to-the minute news addressing the hottest topics of the day in his monologue and recently has welcomed such notables as Robert Downey Jr., Matthew McConaughey, Charlize Theron, Don Cheadle, Hilary Swank, Justin Timberlake, Orlando Bloom, Cameron Diaz, Robin Williams, Kanye West, Heidi Klum, Kobe Bryant, Janet Jackson and Will Ferrell as well as performances by Coldplay, The Killers, Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly Clarkson, Linkin Park, Incubus, Destiny’s Child, Tim McGraw, Avril Lavigne, 50 Cent, Mariah Carey and many more including Matt Damon… well, almost Matt Damon.

It is nice to see that ABC has as much faith in Jimmy Kimmel as I do and I can't wait to see what he does and what will be the watercooler video that everyone will be talking about on Monday!
BTW congrats to Jimmy Kimmel Live! for picking up 2 Emmys on Saturday at the Creative Emmys for I'm F*cking Matt Damon!!!

I have to admit I don’t have much to say about the Emmy nominations because I don’t care enough about a majority of the nominations.
I think the Emmys have become like the Oscars (not because so many Oscar winners and nominees were nominated) because it has become so elitist. Most of the nominees are critical acclaimed shows that no one really watches but the critics and the people that nominated them. Whatever, they will be shocked like the Oscars were when no one was watching because they don’t watch what it nominated.
I am happy for Neil Patrick Harris (where were more noms for HIMYM), James Spader and all the Boston Legal nominees, Hugh Laurie, Two and a Half Men, Christina Applegate and Ryan Seacrest.
I would have given the Emmys more cred if they nominated Britney Spears, but they didn’t. Oh well.

The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced today the 10 finalists for this year’s drama and comedy categories.
If the Emmys pick the shows that I highlighted, this might be very well be a good Emmy year! Could you imagine if Seth MacFarlane got the call that Family Guy was nominated for an Emmy? I hope the House cast would be there to resuscitate him! Let’s hope Boston Legal gets the noms, so maybe ABC will reconsider this being Boston Legal’s last season.

For Your Emmy Consideration…Britney Spears and Mary-Kate Olsen?
June 12th, 2008 under Britney Spears, Emmys, Full House. [ Comments: none ]

What has happened to TV, when both Britney Spears and Mary-Kate Olsen are up for consideration for this year's Emmys for their "acting" role? According to Gold Derby Showtime has submitted Mary-Kate Olsen for Emmy Consideration for best guest actress in a comedic role for Weeds. And if CBS decides to submit Britney Spears for How I Met Your Mother, the two will be competing against each other for the Emmy. Could you imagine Britney Spears and Mary-Kate Oslen dueling it for an Emmy at the Creative Emmys? I mean what is next NBC submitting Paris Hilton for My Name Is Earl and Lindsay Lohan and Victoria Beckham for Ugly Betty?
My money is Katherine Heigl for the win, oh wait her sh!t doesn't stink enough for consideration.
UPDATE: CBS has submitted Britney Spears for How I Met Your Mother!
