Just a few weeks after celebrating their 40th anniversary, Tipper and Al Gore are ending their marriage. According to Politico the two of them announced their split to their friends in an e-mail.
“We are announcing today that after a great deal of thought and discussion, we have decided to separate.
This is very much a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration. We ask for respect for our privacy and that of our family, and we do not intend to comment further.â€
Tipper never had a chance once Al Gore made Mother Nature his mistress. How do you compete with her?
BTW I wonder if there is a parental advisory label on their divorce papers?

This is a sad week for couples because yet another one has announced that they have split. According to People Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels have separated. The singer and the actress have been dating for nearly 9 years and exchanged vows in September of 2003. The two have 3 and a half year old twins, son Miller and daughter Johnnie Rose. No reason was given for the split, but you know one of the tabloids will find out what went wrong.

Anna Torv and Mark Valley separated a few months ago according to People. The two met while he was still on Fringe and married in December of 2008. I though that maybe they split because the two of them were filming their Fox shows in two different cities, but both Fringe and Human Target are filmed in Vancouver. On a positive note their marriage lasted longer than their courtship!

Garcelle Beauvais found out that her husband Mike Nilon allegedly cheated on her, so she decided to let all of his co-workers at CAA know. According to Page Six she reportedly sent them all an e-mail with the subject line “Tiger Woods/Jesse James/Mike Nilon” that read:
“What do they have in common . . . I found out today that MY husband of almost 9 yrs has been having an affair for 5 yrs with some slut in Chicago. I am devastated!!!! And I have been duped!! Our boys don’t deserve this!”
Nothing says f*ck you better than a letter like that. No confirmation on either parties’ part or if either of them have filed for divorce, but I would expect the filing soon.

Kate Winslet attended the Oscars without her husband, Sam Mendes and now we know why. The Oscar winners announced their split via their lawyers today according to BBC.
“Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year. The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children. They ask that the media respect their privacy at this time.”
The two were married on May 24, 2003 and have one son, Joe Alfie together that was born later that year.
Now that Kate is no longer with her husband, that frees her up to date her two-time co-star Leonardo DiCaprio. How awesome would it be if the Titanic stars got together? They should totally get married on a ship!
