Daniel Kyri says goodbye to his Chicago Fire character
August 13th, 2025 under Dick Wolf. [ Comments: none ]

In May, we learned that Daniel Kyri would not be returning to Chicago Fire this season. However, he was asked to play Darren Ritter for a few more episodes.

Yesterday, he put on his firefighter costume one last time. Today, he said goodbye to the person whom he has played for seven years. A part that was only supposed to last for three episodes, which turned into eight seasons.

He wrote: “Chicago Fire changed my life. Bringing Darren Ritter to the screen has transformed & healed me in equal measure. He is a man who embodies empathy, humility, compassion, and unwavering bravery to save lives. His heroism is further fortified by the way he navigates the world—a gay Black firefighter who is proud, fierce, loyal, & whole—a possibility I never got to see onscreen in my childhood but desperately craved…

“I am so humbled & proud to have portrayed you. I’m thrilled that my inner child would have looked at you each week in awe of everything you represent. You made history. Thank you so much, Darren Ritter. And goodbye.”

Station House 51 is not going to be the same without him. He was an underused character who should have been used more.

So even though we will be seeing the last of Ritter, I doubt this is the last we are going to see of Kyri.

Surprise! Daniel Kyri is back on Chicago Fire!
August 4th, 2025 under Dick Wolf. [ Comments: none ]

When Chicago Fire ended its season, we found out that Daniel Kyri would not be returning as Darren Ritter for season 14.

However, today he shared a photo from the set. So, did Dick Wolf and NBC reverse their decision to fire (no pun intended) him? Yes and no. The actor said, “Back! For a limited time✌.”

Maybe they will find a way to keep him because there are a few of the firefighters who I think should go before him. And I am not Kidding.

Earlier this week, Stephon Vann and his friends posted a video of them doing a dance routine to the Law & Order theme song. And it appropriately went viral.

It went so viral that it got back to Law & Order: SVU’s Mariska Hargitay and Kelli Giddish. They loved it so much, they decided to do it for themselves!

If this acting thing becomes dun-dun for the actresses, then they could have a career as dancers!

I don’t know why these videos bring me so much joy, but they do! And you know what would give me even more joy? If we see Ice T do it!

When will your favorite NBC shows be back?

NBC announced today when their shows will debut for the Fall schedule, and they made one huge change.

The Hunting Party, which was supposed to air on Thursdays at 10p, is being held until the midseason. Instead, Law & Order: Organized Crime, which moved to Peacock, is returning to NBC on Thursday nights, with repeats that originally aired on the streamer. Therefore, giving Dick Wolf two nights of broadcasting: One Chicago Wednesdays and Law & Order Thursdays.

The network is also doubling up on comedies. St. Denis Medical and Happy Place will air two episodes on their respective days, Mondays and Fridays. I am not sure if that is a good plan or not. What do you think?

What I do think is that NBC has the advantage over ABC and Fox because they are airing more scripted programming than the other two.

Another Chicago Fire actor goes up in smoke
July 18th, 2025 under Dick Wolf. [ Comments: none ]

When Chicago Fire ended its season, we found out that Jake Lockett and Daniel Kyri would not be returning for season 14.

Now, we are learning that a third firefighter will no longer be fighting fires at Firehouse 51. Michael Bradway, who played Severide’s half-brother Jack Damon, is departing the series.

However, it won’t be the last we see of him on our televisions. That is because Soaps.com is reporting that he has been cast in Prime Video’s Every Summer After, which is currently in production.

I wish they did more to keep him because his character was interesting. It felt like they could do more with the troubled firefighter.
