One Chicago comes together for a gas explosion
January 23rd, 2025 under Dick Wolf. [ Comments: none ]

Next week, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD are coming together for a one-night event.

When a gas explosion rocks a high-rise, Chicago’s first responders come out in force to rescue hundreds of civilians. It’s the calamity beneath the surface, however, that sends our heroes on a race to save 40 people trapped deep underground, including two of their own.

Will anyone we know die? We will have to tune into One Chicago on Wednesday at 10p to find out in what looks like it will be a thrilling three-hour crossover event.

NBC and Dick Wolf had some big news to share about their three Chicago shows. On Wednesday, January 29th, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD are a three-part crossover event. This is the first one since 2019, believe it or not.

“Putting together what is essentially a three-hour action movie is an incredibly ambitious task requiring complete coordination across our writers, casts, crews and producers, along with help from the city of Chicago,” said Anastasia Puglisi, Wolf Entertainment Executive Vice President and co-executive producer of the #OneChicago series. “We’re thrilled to have the best talent in every department to meet this challenge, reinforce the #OneChicago brand, and provide our fans with a unique and compelling viewing experience.”

What can fans expect from the three-hour movie? When a gas explosion rocks a high-rise, Chicago’s first responders come out in force to rescue hundreds of civilians. It’s the calamity beneath the surface, however, that sends our heroes on a race to save 40 people trapped deep underground, including two of their own.

As someone whose favorite movie genre is Disaster film, I cannot wait for the explosive One Chicago Night.

On Call will get your pulse racing
December 5th, 2024 under Dick Wolf, Troian Bellisario. [ Comments: none ]

Dick Wolf has three nights of programming on two different broadcast channels. On January 9th, he is giving streaming a try with his new beat cop procedural on Prime Video.

On Call is an adrenalized and visceral police drama that follows a rookie and veteran officer duo as they go on patrol in Long Beach, California. Incorporating a mixture of bodycam, dash-camera, and cellphone footage to create a cinema verité effect, the innovative series explores the morality of protecting and serving a community.

The series stars Troian Bellisario (Pretty Little Liars) as Officer Traci Harmon, a seasoned twelve-year veteran and training officer with a strong moral compass that has defined her approach to policing, even if that puts her at odds with new law enforcement policies. Brandon Larracuente (The Good Doctor) stars as Alex Diaz, an ambitious rookie who grapples with holding onto his optimistic outlook as he realizes the challenges he’ll face in today’s climate.

I was drinking coffee when I started watching the trailer. But then I poured it down the sink because that teaser woke me up better than caffeine ever could. What an adrenaline rush!

I also can’t wait to see how much further Wolf takes things now that he unrestricted on streaming.

BTWF: Ginnifer Goodwin on Law & Order
November 12th, 2024 under Before They Were Famous, Dick Wolf. [ Comments: none ]

Before Ginnifer Goodwin was Snow White in Once Upon a Time, she was far from it on Law & Order. She looks the same now as she did when she was 23 in that 2001 episode.

BTWF: Daniel Kyri on Kid Nation
November 11th, 2024 under Before They Were Famous, Dick Wolf. [ Comments: none ]

Before Daniel Kyri was resolving conflicts in the firehouse on Chicago Fire, he was doing it on Kid Nation. How mature was the 14-year-old in that 2007 reality show?

Can you tell I am watching The Dark Side of Reality TV? It is so good!
