Don’t miss the bus as Degrassi Goes Hollywood tonight on The N!!!
August 14th, 2009 under Degrassi. [ Comments: 2 ]

What could bring all the classes of Degrassi: The Next Generation together again? The N’s first telemovie, Degrassi Goes Hollywood that premieres tonight at 8p!
Paige is living in Hollywood working as an assistant to a reality show diva, but is telling everyone she is a stylist to the stars. Marco is still in school in Canada and just wants to visit his friend, but she says it is a bad time. Manny is dating her acting teacher at Smithdale University, who is constantly putting her down. Then one day Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes come to her school to give a lecture there and Jason wants to cast her as the lead in his new movie Mewesical High. Only snag is she has to audition for it at Degrassi, where they are holding open calls for the movie. Back at Degrassi the Studz land a role in the movie until Peter punches the lead actor in the mouth for hitting on Mia. And they aren’t the only ones who lose out on a role, after Manny’s boyfriend tells her she will fail so she does and she is too is out of the movie. Back in Hollywood Paige gets an audition for her bitchy boss, but when she leaves something behind in the room it is Paige that gets the role that should’ve been Manny’s. Paige is so happy that she landed the role of Trixie that she invites Marco and Ellie to come for a visit and enjoy her new lifestyle. A lifestyle that the Studz want, so they borrow the Degrassi school bus and get Jay to drive them to Hollywood to see if they can get their band back in the movie. Meanwhile Paige isn’t working out, so Jason tells Manny to haul her butt to LA and the only way to get there is to go with Studz and Jay. Can she handle being trapped on a bus with her ex-Jay and will she get to Hollywood in time to claim the role that is rightfully hers? Will Paige’s ego cost her friendship with Marco and Ellie and her stardom? Will Ellie get back with Craig who she bumped into in LA? Will the Studz play in the movie? Who will guest star in the long awaited Degrassi movie on The N? Find out tonight on The N at 8p as Degrassi Goes Hollywood!!!
Believe me you are not going to want to miss this movie that is so Degrassi and then some. It has that Degrassi feel, but it is a stand alone movie that is directed by Mr “Snake” Simpson aka Stefan Brogren. It moves at the right speed with just enough hi jinx, but just like the show it is their friendship that keep it all together! Degrassi Goes Hollywood will become a cult classic that you will want to watch over and over again. I know I can’t stop watching it!!! I can’t wait for the next one because I know after tonight’s successful airing The N will order a sequel!!

Degrassi Goes Hollywood on August 14th!!!
July 31st, 2009 under Degrassi. [ Comments: 4 ]

On Friday August 14th The N will be airing its first original movie, their Canadian show Degrassi Goes Hollywood and let’s they are starting off with a bang! The N will be bringing back alumni Paige, Ellie, Marco and Craig, recent grads Emma and Manny and current members of Degrassi for a movie that will mesh them all together, but still keep the Degrassi feel. I think that is in large part because it directed by Degrassi original Stefan Brogen aka Snake!

When Manny (Cassie Steele) bombs her audition for Jason Mewes’ new film, she must face the consequences when he casts Paige (Lauren Collins) instead. Paige’s old friends Marco (Adamo Ruggiero) and Ellie (Stacey Farber) fly to Hollywood to support her, but soon realize she’s become a diva overnight. While in Los Angeles, Ellie reunites with Craig (Jake Epstein) and old emotions surface between the former couple. Meanwhile, Manny (Cassie Steele), Jay (Mike Lobel) and the members of the Degrassi band The Stüdz board a school bus for a cross-country road trip to help Manny reclaim the lead role in Mewesical High. Will Manny make it to L.A. in time to claim the role she knows she deserves or will her high school nemesis Paige be standing in the way of her dream?

Not your typical Degrassi episode, but it is still the show we all love and enjoy! Believe you are not going to want to miss Degrassi Goes Hollywood when it premieres on The N at 8p and check out Degrassi: The Next Generation tonight at 8p!!! Next week I will write a longer review, but for now I will tell you that I so love this movie!

Degrassi and The Best Years on The N tonight at 8p!!!
June 29th, 2007 under Degrassi, Nickelodeon. [ Comments: none ]

In the June 29 episode of Degrassi, Paige’s college life collapses around her while she puts on a brave front and pretends that everything is perfect. Ex-girlfriend Alex comes to terms with a family financial crisis and puts her dignity and self respect on the line to make ends meet, while Emma may have a déjà vu moment when a life experience could mirror that of her mother and best friend.

The Best Years follows orphaned and full-ride scholar, Samantha Best (Charity Shea, “Alpha Dog”) as she starts her freshman year at the prestigious Charles University in Massachusetts. Samantha has been shuffled through the foster care system her entire life and is finally looking forward to a future of new opportunities and friendships. She’ll have to contend with the ins and outs of college and mingle with a new world of ‘frenemies’ as she struggles to find her own identity. Along the way she will meet new roommate Kathryn Klarner, (Jennifer Miller) a rich socialite from one of the most prominent families in the mid-west, Dawn Vargas (Athena Karkanis) child actor who trades in Hollywood for college, and Devon Sylver, (Brandon Jay McLaren “She’s The Man”) a fellow scholarship recipient and star basketball player who has caught her eye. With her new dysfunctional family and a part-time job at Boston’s hot spot Colony, Samantha will find herself juggling a lot more than just academics.

I have always been a huge fan of all the Degrassis, so I am looking forward to The Best Years that was created by one of the Degrassi writers! So tune in tonight to The N at 8p for Degrassi and 8:30p for The Best Years!!!
