Derek Hough has a breakthrough case of COVID-19 |

Derek Hough woke up this morning and found out that he tested positive for COVID-19 even though he is fully vaccinated. That means, he most likely will not be at the judges’ table for the Dancing with the Stars finale on Monday. So that meaNs he will probably do it from home.
I hope that the dancer didn’t infect any of the other judges because Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli are over 65 and Carrie Ann Inaba has an autoimmune disease. Even though she had it back in March, it is still risky for her to get it again.
Back to Hough, he has been traveling back and forth between LA and Las Vegas doing shows in Sin City, so that is probably where he got it. This was supposed to be his final week of shows, but now they are postponed because of coronavirus.
Hough is not the first person to test positive for COVID this season. Cheryl Burke was first and then her partner Cody Rigsby was diagnosed a few days later. Hough missed the week that Rigsby and Burke competed from their homes because he was exposed to it in Vegas.

Cody Rigsby and Cheryl Burke have been through a lot this season on Dancing with the Stars.
First, the professional dancer was diagnosed with a breakthrough case of COVID-19, and the judges had to judge their rehearsal dance. Then, a few days later, her partner tested positive. For that week, they danced from their homes on different coasts.
Finally, they were reunited. But it doesn’t look like it feels so good. That is because the Peleton instructor is going all American Psycho on his dance teacher.
So, are they at each other’s throats? Only for Monday’s Halloween episode! It looks like it will be spooktacular! Anyone who is hip to be square will be there. Will you be joining us on Horror Night?

Tonight is Grease night on Dancing with the Stars. We know that the “stars” and the pros will be dancing to songs from the beloved musical.
What you don’t know is that Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman danced to some of the songs before the show.
It is nice to see them let loose because they are always so serious during the show.

In the last week and a half, Cheryl Burke and her Dancing with the Stars partner Cody Rigsby tested positive for breakthrough cases of COVID-19.
Since they weren’t injured, the ABC show came up with creative ways to keep them both on the show over the last two episodes. For the first week, they had the judges judge a filmed rehearsal. Then for this week, they danced at their homes on opposite coasts.
Today, Burke gave an update on their future with the show. Let’s start with the good news. The professional dancer is out of quarantine! There’s more; on Friday, Rigsby will fly back to LA. This brings us to the really great news. They will be back dancing in the ballroom on Monday and Tuesday for Disney week!
However, until he is back in LA, Burke will be teaching her partner via Zoom.
I am so happy that they are back in the studio this week. First, because they are feeling better. Second, because I can stop caring about the show again. That means all I have to care about is what ridiculous outfits Tyra Banks will be wearing throughout the episode. I bet she comes out dressed like Minnie Mouse on Monday. Our poor eyes.
Then again, this could all be moot if IATSE goes on strike. If they do, all production in Hollywood will shut down. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Last week, Cheryl Burke and her Dancing with the Stars partner, Cody Rigsby, tested positive for COVID-19. It looked like their time on the show was over. But it wasn’t.
The ABC dancing competition decided they could dance. But how because they are both being quarantined on opposite coasts? They did a Jazz routine together from their homes.
How did it go? It wasn’t perfect. They weren’t in sync through most of their dance. But, they have COVID-19. Burke had to teach Rigsby through a computer from 3,000 miles away. To me, that is beyond impressive.
They didn’t deserve a perfect 30 (Derek Hough missed the episode because he was exposed to COVID-19). But they also didn’t deserve the 18 that the judges gave them. With all the changes, I am surprised that all the three original judges are still there. Time to move on and take Tyra Banks with them.
