Will Dance Moms get a season 8? Depends who you ask.

Dance Moms has been in the news recently and not for the reason they want. First in late March, Abby Lee Miller unexpectedly quit the show and people were thinking it would be over without her. Then a few days later, they hired Dancing with the Stars’ Cheryl Burke to replace her and things were looking up.

That was until this Saturday when Nia Sioux posted some stuff on Social Media alluding to the fact that the show was over for the girls, the moms and her with the dates 2011-2017. She even took to Twitter to say, “Such an emotional day😢” The dancer wasn’t the only one, Kalani Hilliker Tweeted, “Don’t be sad that it’s over be happy it happened.” One of the moms even got into the action when recent returnee Christi Lukasiak said on Instagram, “April 9, 2011/April 15, 2017. I’ve watched this young woman grow up before my very eyes and I had the experience of a lifetime. No one will ever understand how things really happened except the people who lived it, so I am so grateful for everyone who I got to share this with: cast, crew, and family. And for all of you out there who I have never met, but you root for these girls like their your own, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Just a mom of two beautiful blondes, from Pittsburgh.”

Sounds like that is the end of Dance Moms, right? Well Executive Producer Bryan Stinson Tweeted, “That’s a wrap on season 7. 208 hours of Dance Moms programming. Season 7 was heaven. Season 8 will be gr8t #DanceMoms”

Therefore, what is the deal? We don’t know. But Lifetime would be foolish to continue the show without them. Three words why it won’t work, Dance Moms Miami.

Cheryl Burkes shares a Dance Moms photo revealing who stayed!
April 3rd, 2017 under Dance Moms, Dancing with the Stars. [ Comments: none ]

Last week, Abby Lee Miller abruptly quit Dance Moms again and she was replaced by Dancing with the Stars Cheryl Burke. There were rumors that Ashlee and Brynn also left the show with the dance teacher, but nothing was confirmed.

Over the weekend, the new dance teacher in charge shared some photos of herself with the girls and now we know who left, who stayed and who came back. Brynn is gone, but who cares because her mom and her were unnecessary drama. It also looks like the minis are thankfully gone too.

Kalani, Kendall, Nia and Cam are still part of the Elite team and there is a familiar face with them. In the season finale, Chloe and Christi hinted that they were thinking of coming back and looks like they came back. In fact, it sounds like she did a duet with Nia!

All of sudden, I am liking Dance Moms again. It seems like it will be a lot less drama now that the Drama Queen and her Jesters are gone. The show has felt more scripted than real, and it went from being a guilty pleasure to pure torture to watch. I want the old show back and maybe it will be that way? Or maybe it will be even more scripted and these last 4 episodes will be the last 4 episodes.

How do you feel about all the changes to Dance Moms? Are you happy Abby is gone? Cheryl is in? Brynn and the minis are out? And most importantly Chloe is back!

UPDATE: According to Radar, Brynn and the minis stayed with Abby Lee Dance Company and the other 5 girls went on their own way. Miller is reportedly pitching a reality show with her remaining students, but who wants to watch that? Brynn and the minis are the least interesting members. Plus, what production company is going to want to work with her after all she is rumored to have pulled on Dance Moms? I doubt Lifetime is going to want to her back, so what network will want her new show? But then again you never know. We TV did a show with Mama June and TLC found a way to work with The Duggars, so you anything can happen.

Cheryl Burke is the new Abby Lee Miller on Dance Moms
March 29th, 2017 under Dance Moms, Dancing with the Stars. [ Comments: none ]

On Sunday, Abby Lee Miller took to Instagram to announce that she was quitting Dance Moms (again) and it looks like they have already found her replacement. According to Entertainment Tonight, Dancing with the Stars’ Cheryl Burke will take over as the dance teacher for the four additional episodes that Lifetime ordered for this season.

Is this a good idea? Hell to the no. The show already feels more scripted than reality, so having someone who will do any and every reality show is going to make it feel more fake that it already feels. It would be better to let the show die than try to save it because this solution is going to make the dying show even worse than it already it.

I don’t like Abby Lee Miller, but at least she did not start out as a television star. They would be better off going with a no name than a name because then the show is going to be all about the name than the moms and their daughters. That is who it should really be about and not someone who has reality TV experience.

I mean, if they were going to go with a name, I wish they would’ve gone with Debbie Allen who has already be on the show a few times. Even though she is a name, she is also a well know choreographer who has been working as a dance teacher for a long time. We only know of Burke as a choreographer on DWTS and not as a dance teacher. I think that is the most important credential for Miller’s replacement.

What do you think of Cheryl Burke taking over for Abby Lee Miller?

Abby Lee Miller quits Dance Moms again
March 27th, 2017 under Dance Moms. [ Comments: none ]

Every few weeks Abby Lee Miller takes to Instragram to quit Dance Moms and yesterday she did it again with the below post.

The majority of children that follow me may be fast asleep, however now is the critical time to make the following statement: I WILL NO LONGER TAKE PART IN DANCE MOMS. FOR THE PAST SIX YEARS/ SEVEN SEASONS I HAVE ASKED, BEGGED, AND EVEN DEMANDED CREATIVE CREDIT FOR ALL THE IDEAS, AWARD WINNING ROUTINES, THEMES, AND COSTUMING – TO NO AVAIL! TODAY, I WAS SO PROUD THAT I WENT AGAINST THE PRODUCER’S IDEA (ONCE AGAIN) TO ENTER A COMMAND PERFORMANCE OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE NUMBERS… “WHERE HAVE ALL THE CHILDREN GONE?” ALONG WITH THREE BEAUTIFUL SOLOS! I don’t have a problem working with any kid, I love children and have dedicated my life to making other people’s children successful! I JUST HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BEING MANIPULATED, DISRESPECTED, AND USED – DAY IN AND DAY OUT BY MEN WHO NEVER TOOK A DANCE LESSON IN THEIR LIVES AND TREAT WOMEN LIKE DIRT! #dancemoms #season7 #ALDC #aldcalways #newbeginnings #aldcla #alllovedancecourage

Does this mean this is the end of the line for the show? While Lifetime has no comment, Entertainment Tonight got an answer from the production company. They said, “The show will continue shooting and the producers hope Abby returns to lead her team.” As of now the show is taping the 4 additional episodes that were ordered today, but the source told ET that the network wants the whole cast back or else. Something that is proving difficult for them because this is not the first time she quit the show, and I doubt it will be the last.

The only way for them to officially get rid of her, is if the Federal Government sends her to jail for Bankruptcy Fraud. The dance teacher reportedly plead guilty late last year and is waiting for her sentencing date.

When it comes to Dance Moms without Abby, I am welcome it. But I don’t think the show will survive without her.

Abby Lee Miller says her Dance Moms’ contract hasn’t been picked up yet
January 24th, 2017 under Dance Moms. [ Comments: none ]

If you are like me, then you really want Dance Moms, what was once your guilty pleasure, to end already. The show has been going down hill ever since Chloe and Christie left and it is time for it to dance its final swan song.
Looks like that might be the case because Abby Lee Miller took to Instragram and said that she has not been given a formal pick up for any more episodes after this season. Why did she feel the need to reveal this? She says that someone posted on an online site that she is auditioning for new dancers, which she is not. She doesn’t want to give false hope to the people sending in videos.
The delay on Lifetime’s part might be due to them waiting to find out if Miller will be serving jail time for allegedly committing bankruptcy fraud. Something prosecutes are reportedly asking for her to do. We can get that verdict as early as next month.
If she is sentenced to jail, can the show go on without her? I would say yes and it would probably be better. What do you think?
