Celebrities have come up with interesting reasons why they appear on a late night talk show and I think Jeff Garland has the winner of them all hands down. The actor told Craig Ferguson that he has been trying to get on The Late Late Show for months, but the producers said they never have any time for him. Then they called him and they said they finally had a slot for him on the CBS show, but it is only 2 minute cold open. Well he accepted because he really wanted to promote the movie Sleepwalk with Me. So Ferguson showed a clip from it and Garland was no where to be seen in it. So Craig asked about that and he said that’s because he is not in the movie. He explained that he liked the movie so much that he is spending his free time promoting it.
I don’t know why, but I just love that! How awesome would it be a late night talk show dedicated a week for actors to appear on the show and promote something that isn’t there’s? I know I would enjoy it because it would be something different and sometimes we need to change up the routine.
Yesterday on The Late Late Show Craig Ferguson made fun of both Teri Hatcher and Steven Tyler in monologue. The CBS host has in the past used a picture of Angela Lansbury and said it was Paul McCartney and vice versa. Well now he using a picture of Steven Tyler and saying it is Teri Hacther. I feel bad, but I can’t stop laughing because it is so true. I never realized how much the two look alike until now and now I won’t be able to look at them the same way. And now I am trying to figure out who should be more insulted by that or is it even an insult?
BTW Craig Ferguson also remember his good friend Michael Clarke Duncan at the beginning of the show and I think it is the perfect way to honor him. Just when I started to cry, I found myself laughing so hard because the never-before-seen video showed a real side of MCD and it is a great way to remember him. Plus it will leave a smile on your face almost a big as his was. If you ware going to watch one video in memory of Michael Clarke Duncan, I highly suggest that it be this one.
Lisa Kudrow was on The Late Late Show yesterday and she asked Craig Ferguson to be on her show. He asked if he could tell her his actual real problems and she thought that would be fantastic. So he decided why wait until he tapes her show, he thought let’s work on his problem on his show. So he said, “I am only ever happy when I am doing this show. When I am not here, I am miserable and I hate everybody. I actually hate everybody here as well when I am doing the show as well but I fake it for cash. And not very much cash.” She analyzed it for a second and then told him, “We kind of did that story with Conan O’Brien.” So what is she saying? All late night hosts are miserable people who are only when they do their shows? Or is she saying she was Team Leno??? I would rather it be the first option.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan was on The Late Late Show yesterday and Craig Ferguson asked him if anything strange happened when they were filming The Possession. The actor who played a ghost on Grey’s Anatomy told the CBS late night host that some weird stuff happened on the set. For example key lights exploded during big scenes and unexplained cold wind gusts would come out of no where even though there were no windows or doors.
Oy! Who knew finally making a movie about a Jewish possession would actually lead to a movie set being possessed? I wonder if the movie’s other star Matisyahu was able to rap a Hebrew prayer to make them go away. Although some Orthodox Jews don’t believe in ghosts.
Craig Ferguson has a new stage for The Late Late Show and because of that he was able to give our good friend Secretariat his own stable door where we could see him throughout the whole show. Only problem is no one factored in the creepiness of it. And to make matters worse the CBS host added some creepy music as we watched the friendly horse staring out from his half opened door. Let’s just say I think the happy-go-lucky prancing horse needs to make his way to the glue factory ASAP. Seriously aren’t going to have nightmares tonight from that? I know I did last night when I watched the show at 12:35a on CBS.
