2 Broke Girls has a better pact with the devil than Angel From Hell!
October 14th, 2015 under 2 Broke Girls, CBS. [ Comments: none ]

CBS announced today that they are holding Angel From Hell until midseason and 2 Broke Girls will be back on November 12th.
No reason was given for the change, but here is my theory. Angel From Hell is painfully awful and with Life in Pieces being a disappointment, they don’t want to have their two new comedies off the air by the new year. Instead, they want to build up their Thursdays, when football season is over, and air 3 shows that have proven to do well for them. The Big Bang Theory will start off the night at 8p, followed by the unfunny Life in Pieces, Mom and 2 Broke Girls. Sadly, Mom and 2 Broke Girls are not a good fit with each other, but hopefully people won’t notice that. That’s because to me, 2 Broke Girls is the only CBS comedy on Thursdays to watch. Sorry, but TBBT has gotten really tired. Too many characters and they lost the feeling they had before they added Bernadette and Amy.
Now, at this point, Angel From Hell is slated to air in February. That makes me think that CBS will order enough episodes of LIP to get them through then. That is unless it completely plummets on Thursdays night.
I don’t know why CBS is trying to save this show because they still have The Odd Couple and Mike & Molly waiting in the wings. Two comedies that are a million times funnier than AFH and LIP combined.
What do I know, I am just a viewer.

Code Black has a pulse
September 30th, 2015 under CBS, Marcia Gay Harden. [ Comments: none ]

Code Black is the newest medical drama on television and the show that debuts on CBS tonight at 10p is a lot like ER on 5 Red Bulls.
When I watched Code Black at the beginning of the summer, I hated the show. I thought it was all action and no emotion. As in there are so many cases that you can’t emotionally get involved in any of them, so how can you get emotionally attached to the show. Then I re-watched it, and I was able to get more emotionally involved with some of the cases. I think if they eliminate at least one case per episode, the show has a chance of becoming a hit. If they keep it at this rate, I think people will get tired of it because it is exhausting.
Code Black follows four first year interns (Benjamin Hollingsworth, Bonnie Somerville, Melanie Chandra and Harry Ford) working at Angels Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles. It is one of the busiest ERs in the country. Code Black is when there are more patients than resources and that happens about 300 times a year there. Each week they will have to deal with being at Code Black and try not to kill any of their patients.
They will have help from Mama (Luis Guzman), a caring senior nurse, and Papa (Marcia Gay Harden), a tough doctor who will do anything to save her patients. There there is their cousin, Dr Hudson (Raza Jaffrey), who is the calm one in the storm. But the kids always listen to their parents, who are the best actors on the show and keep it from going flatline.
So if you want a medical drama on Speed, then Code Back is for you. I think that Code Black is on life support for the time being and it can either way. It is up to you, to help decide if CBS should pull the plug or not.

Limitless has a few but not many limits! NCIS and NCIS: NoLa are back!
September 22nd, 2015 under CBS, NCIS. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRXy6jLTgaU
Tonight at 10p on CBS, Limitless goes from the big screen to the small one.
Brian Finch (Jake McDorman) is approaching 30 and he hasn’t done much with his life. He is in a band and everyone but him has given up on it. Things have gotten so bad that he takes a job as a temp and finds out his former best friend and bandmate works there. The two of them catch up over coffee and Eli gives his buddy an NZT pill. The pill gives him the ability to access everything in his brain. His two week temp job is completed in 2 hours.
Now with all that extra brain power to spare, he decides to use to it to find out what is ailing his dad. He figures it out, but his parents think he is crazy until his diagnosis proves true. Only problem is that they discover his dad needs a liver transplant, but he probably won’t get one in time.
Brian decides to ask Eli for another pill, so that maybe he can find another way to cure his dad. When he gets to his friend’s apartment, he discover his buddy’s dead body on the floor and he has been shot. Just as he is trying to figure out what to do the police knock on the door looking for Eli.
Brian is on the run and FBI Agent Rebecca Harris (Jennifer Carpenter) is on his tail. He tells her that he is innocent but she doesn’t believe him until he proves it. Now the two of them are trying to figure out who killed Eli.
Meanwhile, Brian is visited by Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper), who is now a Senator, who says he is willing to supply him with the NZT for the rest of his life because unlike other test subjects, he doesn’t suffer from the fatal side effect. Only thing is that he can’t tell anyone about their meeting.
Back to Agent Harris, she thinks that Brian would make a great consultant for the agency and convinces her boss to put him in a safe house.
And now you have he premise for the series, the two of them will work together to solve some of the toughest crimes each week.
If you are tuning in for Cooper, you will be greatly disappointed because he is only on the show for a few minutes. But there is more to the show than just him.
When I heard that the show was picked up for the fall, I was like why, the movie was completely forgettable. In fact, the first time I watched the pilot, I was bored. Then I rewatched it and I quite enjoyed it. So I suggest giving it a chance because it has potential. How much? We will just have to tune in each week to find out.

Before we get to Limitless, there are two NCISes that air before it. At 8p, NCIS picks up with Gibbs (Mark Harmon) being rushed into surgery after being shot. Dr Taft (Jon Cryer) is doing everything in his power to save the agent, but the second bullet exploded his chest and it caused a lot of damage. As the doctor works to save his patient, DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) is instructed to find the kid that shot his boss. By the end of the episode, Gibbs fate will be decided and DiNozzo will get his man. Which man that is, you will have to tune in to find out.
Cryer is a great addition to the cast, it is like he was born to play a surgeon.

Then at 9p, NCIS: New Orleans is back for its second season and it starts off with a bang. As in someone blows up a military convoy on the bridge. Now Pride (Scott Bakula), LaSalle (Lucas Black), Brody (Zoe McLellan) and Plame (Daryl ‘Chill’ Mitchell) have to figure out who did it. What they discover, is that it is a militia super group and this bombing was only the beginning. Will they be able to find out them before it is too late?

Life in Pieces is a piece of crap, but Scorpion is out of this world!
September 21st, 2015 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pU7wHKrSscw
Life in Pieces is the first sitcom of the Fall season to make its debut and it’s the worst one of them all. In its defense that is not saying much because most of them are really bad.
The comedy that debuts at 8:30p on CBS is cross between the movie Parenthood and a Judd Apatow film. It’s the story of a family with problems, told in 4 vignettes.
Matt (Thomas Sadoski) just started dating Colleen (Angelique Cabral) and she is still living with her ex-fiance’ who thinks they are still engaged. They can’t have sex at her place, so they go to his place but he lives with his parents. What to do? Have sex in the car and get busted by the cops.
Then there is Jen (Zoe Lister-Jones) who is giving birth to her first baby and poops on the table. Then when her husband Greg (Colin Hanks) and her are seen by their doctor, they are told they can’t have sex for six weeks. The doctor also tells her not to look down there until she sees her again. She doesn’t listen and looks down there.
Heather (Betsy Brandt) and Tim (Dan Bakkedahl) take their oldest child to look at colleges and the dad tells his son about how he lost his virginity. He says that he did a Scott Baio and mistook the couch for his girlfriend. He only knew about the mistake when he found lint and a coin on the tip of penis. To make matters worse for Heather and Tim, their daughter gets her period and their youngest daughter finds out everything is a lie. So Heather decides she wants to have another kid, but when Tim calls her old the mood is lost.
Finally, there are the patriarchs John (James Brolin) and Joan (Dianne Wiest). John is turning 70, so he decides to throw a funeral for his birthday party. After everyone leaves, he gets into the coffin and gets himself locked in. Now his family has to rush him to the Jiffy Lube to set him free.
If this sounds funny to you, enjoy. If you think this sounds like crap, you are just like me!
I love comedies, and this season is a huge disappointment starting off with this show. I am so sick of a shows trying so hard to be risque because their desperation ruins what could be a good show. Well, in this case it is just desperation and that’s sad.

Then at 9p, Scorpion is back and it is not suffering from the sophomore slump.
Walter (Elyes Gabel) has been in rehab recuperating from his accident (in the season finale) and he is not the same quite yet. The team has been working on their own projects now that Homeland refuses to work with them. And then there is Cabe (Robert Patrick), who has been working as a consultant on movies and he despises it. When he gets a call that they need Team Scorpion back together, he rushes over to the warehouse.
The old boss is gone and Adriana (Alana De La Garz) is the new person in charge. She believes in Scorpion, but she also isn’t going to let them get away with the stuff they used to.
What is the big emergency? A nuclear powered Russian satellite is plummeting down towards Earth and Los Angeles is its target. The team needs to reprogram it, so that it will crash into the ocean instead. But when that doesn’t work, it looks like all hope is lost? Will the satellite destroy LA or will they save the day?
Besides dealing with impending doom, they are also dealing with their internal relationships. Can they find love or will they be alone forever?
Scorpion is the show that gets your blood pumping for the week and we all need that. So tune in, to really get your week started on the right note.

Michael Weatherly’s is sunny side up!
August 13th, 2015 under CBS, Michael Weatherly. [ Comments: none ]

NCIS is one of those shows where the male actors don’t have to take off their shirts, which is a shame after looking at this photo of Michael Weatherly. Seriously wouldn’t you like to see DiNozzo topless on the #1 show more often? I know I would and you don’t have to slap the back of my head for me to see that.
