Back in November, Carrie Underwood took her dogs for a walk and she lost her balance going down the steps outside her house. That fall caused her to break her wrist and get 40 stitches on her face.
After she announced her accident, she went radio silent for almost 2 months. Then she took to her website and revealed that she is going to look different. Over the next three months, she gave us glimpses of her face, but we did not get to see it all until Sunday at the ACMs. It was then, that we were all like she looks the same.
Today, she sat down with Bobby Bones on his radio show and he asked her about it. She told them that she got lucky in the healing department and that is why she looks the same. The American Idol also revealed that she is also wearing a lot of makeup and even her son, Isaiah, says it covers the scar.
When it comes to what part of her face she needed the stitches on, she motioned that it was pretty much from her nose down to her chin. Front and center. Thankfully, she healed up and we cannot notice. Not that we would care.
https://youtu.be/IKKHTJv-OnY Back in November, Carrie Underwood fell down her front stairs and received dozens of stitches on her face. So many, that in January, she said that she might look different.
Tonight, five months after her accident, she performed for the first time at the ACMs. We got to see if her face looks any different. It does not. Even if she did we would still love her.
James Van Der Beek and Claire Danes are known for being ugly criers and Carrie Underwood reminded us that we all look that way when we cry, with the first song of off her upcoming album.
Ahead of her first appearance, since her accident, this Sunday at the ACMs, she released her new single Cry Pretty. She might not be able to cry pretty, but she as heck can sing that way! It is the type of tune that when you are feeling really down, you will be belting out on repeat and wishing you could cry pretty.
Ever since Carrie Underwood told us in January that she looks different because of her November fall down her front steps, we have wanted to know what she looks like now. She has given us glimpses, but has still yet to reveal what her face looks like now.
Today, she gave us an update along with the cover to her first single off the new record. She said, “First off, physically, I’m doing pretty darn good these days! My wrist is almost back to normal, about 90% there…and the docs say that last 10% will come in time. And my face has been healing pretty nicely as well. I definitely feel more like myself than I have in a while.” Then she added, “One of the silver linings for me in this healing process is the time I’ve gotten to spend with Mike and Isaiah. I’ve been calling it ‘forced relaxation.’ Sometimes I think things happen in order to make us slow down. It also means I’ve been home to support my favorite hockey player coming out of retirement!”
Sometimes, when we are going through the negative, we are not able to see the positives until we are all the way through it. Now that she is through the worst of it, she can see the best that came from it.
Another thing that came from this is her album. Tomorrow, she will release, Cry Pretty, the first single from the new CD.
Then on Sunday, she will make her first public appearance since the accident at the ACMs on CBS. Meaning, she will go head-to-head (no pun intended) against American Idol. Once again showing them who is the #1 American Idol in sales and ratings!
Carrie Underwood released the music video for her song The Champion. It is her first video since her accident back in November, so people are curious if she would show her face. She said her face was scarred from the fall and that she looks different.
For a brief second she did show her face, and it looked the same. But for most of the video, she stood behind a mic shield. Since we are our own worst critic she might see something we don’t.
I just wish she would realize that we will love her no matter what she looks like.
