Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus’ marriage is over after 28 years, and I have an achy breaky heart for them.
According to TMZ, she filed on Wednesday in Tenessee. This is the second time she has asked for a divorce. The first time was in 2013. Three years before that, Billy Ray was the one who turned in the paperwork for a divorce.
Tish says in the filing that the estranged couple has not lived together for over two years, and she would like marital assets to be split equally.
They have five children together, Miley, 29, Braison, 27, Noah, 22, and Billy Ray adopted her two children, Brandi, 34, and sons Trace, 33, from a previous relationship.
There are many reasons to have an achy breaky heart, but this is not one of them. When Billy Ray Cyrus was nowhere to be seen in the first photos from Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s wedding on Sunday, people assumed that her father was not there. Turns out he was at the party in the USA along with the rest of their immediate family. Feel better now that you know that he was there?
The whole Cyrus clan came in like a wrecking ball to takeover Apple TV’s Carpool Karaoke. It would not be a family reunion if Billy Ray, Tish, Miley, Brandi, Trace, Braison & Noah Cyrus did not sing the song that made their last name famous. To make the Achy Break Heart performance even more rockin’, they all put on mullet wigs just like the hairdo the patriarch had when we got to know that catchy tune 25 long years ago. A lot has happened to the Cyrus world since we started line dancing to that song! Imagine what life would be like if that breakup anthem never happened? There would be no party in the USA.
Billy Ray Cyrus hurt his hamstring a week and a half ago during the City of Hope ball game and now he is seeing someone famous in his bruise. Maybe because his show, Still the King, will be back on CMT July 11th or because he is a fan of The King, but he thinks it looks like Elvis Presley. Do you see it?
Whether you do or not, say you do because you don’t want to break his achy breaky heart if you do not. I see it. In fact, I think he should get a tattoo of it because I think it would be totally cool to remember it as is.
