Tonight at 8p Cougar Town says goodbye to ABC with an hour long finale and we say hello to Mr and Mrs Ellis with one of the most beautiful TV weddings.
All season long the sitcom has been teasing Jules and Grayson’s big wedding and today is the big day. But before we get to that momentousness event, we will live a day over and over and over again. Well not really, but the gang forces Jules to experience the movie Groundshog Day in order for her to finally understand the film and something else.
Once she learns her lesson, Grayson tells her he wants a very small intimate wedding and asks her to elope to Napa Valley with him. You can take a girl out of the cul-de-sac, but you can’t take her friends away from her. Especially if you are going to go to the holy land of wine. So who will get the wedding that they want Jules or Grayson? What I will tell you is we will all get a wedding we will want to have. So have the tissues ready because you will be crying tears of joy.
So tune in for Cougar Town’s last episode tonight on ABC and get ready to watch the show on its new network TBS early next year.
ABC has made the stupid mistake of cancelling Cougar Town, but don’t worry because the smart TBS made to decision to pick it up. Courtney Cox and her drinking buddies will move to their new cul-de-sac early next year and they have signed a two year lease with their new home.
Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) said, “Cougar Town is a smart, whimsical sitcom that draws its humor from likable, relatable characters.” Something ABC never promoted the show as. Actually they never really promoted it and that was the major problem. The other one is the show’s name. So I wonder if now that the show has a new network, if it will also get a name?
This is not the first show or person to jump from a network to the Turner cable channels, Conan O’Brien has been successful for TBS and SouthLAnd just got picked up for another season on TNT 2 seasons after NBC didn’t think it was worthy of one. So I think Cougar Town is really going to enjoy its new home and I am sure Bill Lawrence will finally get the much needed respect he deserves.
You can go out tonight and spend twice the amount on a Valentine’s Day meal or you can stay in, have a bottle of wine, watch Cougar Town on ABC at 8:30p and have sex for free. I am thinking the latter sounds like a better option, don’t you?
Never in the history of television has cast and crew fought so hard to get their show back on the air and to make sure it stays there, but that is exactly what the people behind Cougar Town have done. They have toured the country and invited fans of the show to have a night out with the cast and crew to enjoy the show they love even though ABC wasn’t showing it the love it deserves.
Well tonight ABC is finally starting Cougar Town’s third season and you will want to watch this show because it is the funniest show you haven’t been watching. I can’t tell you how many times I laughed hysterically during the season premiere. I was laughing so hard I actually had wine go up my nose and let me tell you that is not fun. And even though I nearly peed in my pants from all the funny things that happened, I shed a few happy tears when Grayson proposed to Jules. It was one of the most romantic proposals I have ever seen on TV.
Seriously watch this show tonight on ABC at 8:30p that is not about Cougars living in a town and don’t tell me you don’t want to be friends with Courteney Cox, Josh Hopkins, Busy Phillips, Christa Miller, Ian Gomez, Brian Van Holt and Dan Byrd.
And did I mention that Stan has turned into a demon baby this season? Best toddler ever!
Season three of Cougar Town is finally going to debut on Valentine’s Day at 8:30p on ABC, but before it hit the airwaves next Tuesday you can watch the high-larious preview reel. If you needed a reason to watch the worst titled show on television, then I think the above ten minute video will you give you that much needed reason. Don’t tell me you didn’t laugh more watching that preview reel than you did watching Chelsea and Whitney and Rob and all those one named sitcoms named after comedians you would never pay money to see live combined.
Another reason to watch the show, never in the history of television has a cast and crew fought so hard to keep their show on the air. So much so here is what show creator Bill Lawrence sent out to the press when he sent out a link to the video, “Trying everything, we just all like our job too much. Getting in trouble with ABC legal left and right (walk on contest, free wine, posting show clips, etc) but whatever.” You can say whatever to him getting in trouble, but please don’t say whatever to this funny show that is about friendship, wine, pranks, games, love, wines and cul de sac living. It is about everything, but Cougars living in a Town.
So please I implore you to watch Cougar Town every Tuesday at 8:30p, I promise you will love it as much as everyone who is trying to keep this show on air. That and Glee will be off the air for seven weeks, and who wants to watch I Hate My Teenage Daughter over this show?
Cougar Town is the worst named show on television, so the cast took to FunnyOrDie and gave their own suggestions for a better title for the show. When all was said and done the best one they came up with was Anything But Cougar Town. I love it it and I hope they change it to that that next season. That is if ABC is wise enough to give the show, that will finally be back on TV this Valentine’s Day at 8:30p, another season.
So if you are not watching the sitcom because of the title, then get over it and show it so much needed love on Tuesday, February 14th. I promise Cougar Town will give you back all of that love and several glasses of wine. What more does a virgin need than love and lots of wine to make them go all the way? I swear the show will be gentle to you if it is your first time watching it.
To those of you are experienced with the show, it won’t be too rough on you and it will leave you extremely satisfied just like it always has.
