Vince Neil disses Axl Rose again
August 20th, 2009 under Axl Rose, Mötley Crüe. [ Comments: 5 ]

It has been over 20 years since Motley Crue’s Vince Neil and Guns N’ Roses Axl Rose began to openly hate each other, and their feud has been silent almost as long…until now. According to Jam!, Vince is bashing Axl again and I so agree with Vince this one. When he was asked about Guns N’ Roses much anticipated dud Chinese Democracy, he had this to say…

Neil says, “For that (album) to fail was pretty crazy after so many years of being recorded.”
And the Motley Crue star is opening up about what he suggests is unprofessionalism on Rose’s part, adding, “A buddy of mine went to go play guitar for him. They rehearsed for three months and Axl never once turned up. Rule number one: show up!
“He’s been doing that for many years. Finally I think the fans just went, ‘F**k it – can’t do this anymore.’ You can’t be a fan when you can’t see the band.”

I doubt Axl will have anything to say about this because we haven’t heard him once defend that piece of crap album since it was a colossal failure. That and I think Vince could so take him now with barely effort.

Axl Rose needs to get over himself
November 26th, 2008 under Axl Rose. [ Comments: 2 ]

Believe it or not Axl Rose is going after Dr Pepper for giving away free sodas because he (not Guns N' Roses) finally released the extremely disappointing Chinese Democracy. According to Rolling Stone, he wants an apology from them because they had computer glitches on Sunday during the sign up for the free Dr Pepper or he plans on suing them.

According Axl Rose’s lawyer Alan S. Gutman, things went terribly wrong: Yesterday he sent a letter to Dr. Pepper CEO Larry Young saying that the soda company’s website crashed and that “the redemption scheme your company clumsily implemented for this offer was an unmitigated disaster which defrauded consumers and, in the eyes of vocal fans, ‘ruined’ the day of Chinese Democracy’s release”. The band is seeking a public apology via ads in newspapers, plus more time for people to claim their free soda and monetary damages. In the words of the letter: “Now it’s time to clean up the mess.” The letter continues, “As we all now know, Dr. Pepper created an expansive and highly-publicized advertising campaign based solely on the exploitation of my cleints’ legendary reputation. In and of itself this campaign brazenly violated our clients’ rights in numerous respects. Unfortunately, Dr. Pepper has now magnified the damage this campaign has caused through its appalling failure to make good on a promise it made to the American public.”

Other highlights from the letter: “Our clients are outrated at your treatment of their fans and the American public in general. After it became clear that Chinese Democracy would be released in 2008, Dr. Pepper executive Tony Jacobs proudly proclaimed that Dr. Pepper would make good on its promise to give a free soda to everyone in America. It turned out that Dr. Pepper did not define ‘everyone in America’ the same way as ‘everyone in America’ defined ‘everyone in America.’” It concludes, “Had you wished to engage in a commercial tie-in with our clients, you should have negotiated a legitimate arrangement instead of hijacking their rights without payment. Rest assured, this misappropriation will not be free.”

Seriously? WTF? Dr Pepper did extend the offer until 6p on Monday because of the glitch. So maybe they need to do their research? Dr Pepper helped to remind people that Chinese Democracy was finally coming out, he should be thanking them for the free publicity and not suing them. Axl mislead us saying that that CD was a GNR album when in fact it was only his and that it sucks. I had my issues with the CD because of the blogger that was arrested for posting it early, but I thought I would be fair and give it a shot when it was up on MySpace for free and I could not believe how lame it was. The songs that made GNR who GNR, were not evident on Chinese Democracy. It is just bad and boring.
So I say to Axl thanks for the Dr Pepper, but can I get an appology the time I wasted listening to Chinese Democracy?

Dr Pepper keeps to its word!!!
November 21st, 2008 under Axl Rose. [ Comments: 2 ]

So 6 months ago Dr Pepper came up with a brilliant marketing plan. They promised if Guns n' Roses released Chinese Democracy by the end of the year they would give everyone a free Dr Pepper. Hey it has been 14 of GNR promising they would release the CD, so they probably thought they were safe with the plan. Until several weeks ago when GNR announced they were finally releasing the album. So now that album is finally coming out on Tuesday will Dr Pepper keep its words? In a word…yes!!!
Here is how you get your free Dr Pepper:

1.      On the Nov. 23, 2008 release date, go to www.drpepper.com

2.      Register your information to receive a coupon for one free 20-oz. Dr Pepper.

3.      When your coupon arrives, redeem it wherever Dr Pepper is sold.

4.      Drink your Dr Pepper slowly to experience all 23 flavors.  Dr’s orders.

Coupons will be available for 24 hours, starting at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time on Nov. 23, 2008.  Allow 4-6 weeks for coupon to arrive.  Coupons will expire on Feb. 28, 2009.  Limit one coupon per person.  Full terms and conditions available at www.drpepper.com.

Oh to have been a fly on the wall when they found out Guns N' Roses was actually releasing Chinese Democracy.
BTW MySpace is streaming Chinese Democracy and after listening to it, all I can say is at least we got a free Dr Pepper out of it. I sincerely feel bad for all those fans who waited 14 years for that album because it doesn't sound like GNR and it sucks…but again at least they got a free Dr Pepper out of it.

Dr Pepper will keep their promise!
October 9th, 2008 under Axl Rose. [ Comments: 1 ]

Earlier in the year Dr Pepper promised that if Guns'N'Rose released Chinese Democracy in 2008 that they would give everyone in America a free Dr Pepper. Well today it was announced that GNR's album will be release on November 23rd. So will Dr Pepper keep their word?
Tony Jacobs, VP of marketing for Dr Pepper, said "We're waiting to hear about Chinese Democracy just like all the other GNR fans.  But if the rumors are true, we're putting the Dr Pepper on ice."

Although I am protesting GNR's album because they had a blogger arrested for leaking the album, I will not boycott a free Dr Pepper!!!
