Norman Lear & guest, I mean, Rita Moreno know how to make a entrance
January 8th, 2018 under Awards, Rita Moreno. [ Comments: 1 ]

While most people use their feet to make their way on the red carpet, Norman Lear and Rita Moreno rode in on a motorcycle like bats out of hell. He might be 95 and she is 86, but they were the coolest people there. Proving that not only is their project together called One Day At a Time, it has the two legends live their lives! Nothing is going to stop them.

Not even, as Yashar Ali pointed out, The New York Times listing Moreno as a guest. She is one of the 12 people who is a member of EGOT. She won a Golden Globe for West Side Story and was nominated for The Ritz that earned her a Tony. Let alone that she was awarded the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014. But what do these Millennials know about true Hollywood legends?

While we were upset about it, Norman Lear simply Tweeted, “@TheRitaMoreno and guest.” Proving he still has it and that he is no Archie Bunker.

A drone’s eye view of fireworks!
May 29th, 2017 under Awards, Awesome Videos. [ Comments: none ]

We know that fireworks are beautiful. If we didn’t think so, then we wouldn’t watch them whenever we can. While we watch the view from the ground, ever wonder what they would look like from the sky? Well, a man decided to fly his drone into a fireworks show and what he captured is just stunning. One of the prettiest sites you will see all day. I can watch it all day.

Now, having said all of that, is it wrong that I wanted to see of the fireworks to hit the drone and cause it to explode?

Tonight’s Tonys is dedicated to the Pulse Shooting victims
June 12th, 2016 under Awards. [ Comments: none ]

The Tonys are tonight on CBS and it almost seems kind of wrong for them to go on after the horrendous Pulse Shooting. But the show must go on and they are dedicating it to the 50 innocent lives that were taken away from us unnecessarily.
It will have a somber feel, but we can’t let the shooters win. They can try to break us, but we won’t let them.
Today we are all LGBTQ! Put your hate aside because look at what it caused.

Idris Elba found an interesting use for his SAG Awards
January 31st, 2016 under Awards, Idris Elba. [ Comments: none ]

Idris Elba won not one but two SAG Awards yesterday for Luther and Beasts of No Nation. While he was drunk with excitement, his statuettes were just drunks. That is because he used them as drink holders and looks like they were doing more than just holding the drinks! Why not, it is not every year that someone wins 2 SAG Awards for individual achievement in acting.

The Tony Awards opening will bring smile to your face!
June 9th, 2013 under Alicia Keys, Awards. [ Comments: none ]

Once again Neil Patrick Harris showed all the other hosts how to open an awards show with the opening number he had tonight for The Tony Awards! No one does it better than him and that fact that he kept that momentum up for 7 minutes is absolutely incredible. Way to go NPH!
Plus he had every show that is playing/ed on the Great White Way this past year be part of it.
And my favorite part was when his dissed the Les Miz movie because it’s true. Gotta love Broadway where the actors sing live 8 days a week and they don’t need a closeup to prove it.

UPDATE: The show was more than just the opening number, here is Andrew Rannells, Megan Hilty and Laura Benanti singing about their cancelled shows. Remember The New Normal, Smash, Go On and The Playboy Club? I do and I miss them too.

And here is a cute moment between NPH and Annie’s Sandy!

Finally this is how the Tonys ended with NPH and Audra McDonald wrapping up the wonderful show to the music of Alicia Keys Empire State of Mind.
