December 3rd, 2006 under Arrested. [ Comments: none ]

British soap opera star Ben Freeman has been arrested and charged with raping a woman while on vacation in Barbados, police said Sunday. In a statement, the Royal Barbados Police Force said Freeman was accused by a British woman of sexually assaulting her while the 26-year-old actor was on holiday at the Almond Beach Village resort on the tropical island’s northern coast. Police did not release the woman’s identity or age or any other details, including when the alleged attack occurred and when Freeman was arrested. Freeman, who plays Scott Windsor in the British soap "Emmerdale," was granted US$10,000 (C7,550) bail and was due to appear in court Tuesday, the statement said. He had to surrender his travel documents.

A fate worse than death for Phil Spector if he goes to jail?
December 3rd, 2006 under Arrested. [ Comments: 1 ]

PHIL Spector, the legendary rock producer who invented "the wall of sound" in the ’60s, will suffer more than most inmates if he is convicted in the 2003 death of actress Lana Clarkson, who was shot in his mansion in Alhambra, Calif. The trial is finally due to start in March. Spector is not obsessed with guns, he’s obsessed with hiding his baldness and is never seen without his toupee. His ex-wife, Ronnie Spector, said that in six years of marriage, he never let her see him take it off. If convicted, he wouldn’t be allowed to wear his toupee in prison.

WTF that is a toupee? If I were the Judge, instead of sentencing him to jail, I would sentence him to spend the rest of his life never able to wear a toupee or wig again or get plugs or a hair transplant.

Police reopen the case of the man that died at Michael Barrymoore’s house
December 2nd, 2006 under Arrested. [ Comments: none ]

As Michael Barrymore was appearing in the lead role of a musical, detectives said they were launching a new investigation into the death of Stuart Lubbock whose body was found in a swimming pool at the comedian’s home. Mr Lubbock, from Harlow, was found dead at Barrymore’s home near the Essex town in March 2001. A lengthy investigation was carried out by Essex Police but no-one was charged with any offences in relation to Mr Lubbock’s death. Mr Barrymore accepted an official caution for drugs offences following the inquiry. A coroner recorded an open verdict following an inquest in September 2002. Mr Barrymore was performing in Scrooge, the musical, at His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen. The musical was a hit in the West End and began a national tour in Wolverhampton last month. Police said their decision to reinvestigate followed a review of the initial inquiry. Mr Lubbock had been among a number of people at a party at Mr Barrymore’s home. Post mortem tests showed that he had suffered severe internal injuries which suggested sexual assault. Alcohol plus ecstasy and cocaine were found in his bloodstream. His father Terry, also of Harlow, has mounted a constant campaign for a reinvestigation. The confirmation from Essex Police that they were reopening the investigation follows a failed attempt by Mr Lubbock’s father to launch a private prosecution against Mr Barrymore in February. He wanted the entertainer to answer allegations of drug misuse, disorderly behaviour and assault. But a district judge blocked the move – following the private hearing at a magistrates court in Southend, Essex – saying there was insufficient evidence.

That does not sound good for him.

Snoop Dogg arrested again…and not an airport
November 29th, 2006 under Arrested, Snoop Dogg. [ Comments: none ]

Rapper Snoop Dogg was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly possessing drugs and a firearm. Detectives from the Burbank Police Department served a search warrant on Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, outside NBC studios in Burbank at approximately 7:30 p.m. this evening. Police say they found the rapper in possession of cocaine, a firearm and a large amount of marijuana. He was also cited for allegedly having a false compartment in his vehicle. The rapper had just performed on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and was leaving the studio when police pulled his car over on Bob Hope Drive and placed him under arrest. Bail has been set at $60,000, and TMZ is told that the lawyer for the rap star expects him to be released sometime this evening. Law enforcement officials tell TMZ the search warrant was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation into the Dogg’s arrest earlier this month at the Burbank Airport, after he allegedly tried carrying a gun in a carry-on bag onto a plane.

You would think after his Burbank Airport bust he would stop carrying around drugs and firearms?

November 28th, 2006 under Arrested. [ Comments: none ]

TMZ has learned that "30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan was busted for drunk driving early this morning in New York. Police sources tell TMZ the comedian/actor was stopped at 4:38 AM in Manhatten after cops noticed he was driving erratically. According to the police report, Morgan "was unable to maintain a position in a lane of traffic." Morgan was taken to the 33rd Precinct and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired. This is Morgan’s second drunk driving arrest. He’s currently on probation in Los Angeles for a D.U.I. conviction. The latest arrest could constitute a violation of Morgan’s probation and, as a result, he could face jail time in both L.A. and New York. Morgan’s rep was not immediately available for comment.
