We are 24 days away from New Year’s Eve. So it is about time that ABC revealed who is going to be performing at New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest.
The first round of announced performers are Aqua, Bebe Rexha, Coco Jones, Doechii, Ellie Goulding, Green Day, Janelle Monáe, Loud Luxury, Ludacris, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Paul Russell, Reneé Rapp, Thirty Seconds to Mars and Two Friends.
I love that ABC is taking advantage of the fact that Aqua is touring in America and asked them to be part of their special. I just hope they get to perform more than their hit Barbie Girl because their other songs are equally as good.
Seacrest, who is hosting the shindig for his 19th year, will be joined by Rita Ora in Times Square, and Dayanara Torres will be co-hosting from Puerto Rico.
Back in 1997, Aqua had an International hit with their song, Barbie Girl. It was so huge. Just me mentioning it has you singing, “I’m Barbie girl in the Barbie world!” Right?
Anyways. On July 21st, we are getting a live-action Barbie movie. So when Aqua’s René Dif, Lene Nystrøm, and Søren Rasted heard there was a trailer for it, they had to film themselves watching it.
The first thing Rasten said is, “It looks like somebody saw the video that we did and just made a fucking movie.” And he is 100% right. It looks like the plastic world they created. But with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
And on that note, Nystrøm pointed out that the actors will forever be known as Barbie and Ken. Another factual point!
Finally, Dif summed up how we all feel, “It looks fucking amazing.”
Just like their music video for Barbie Girl! Seriously, as they said, the movie looks like their video. Don’t believe me, then click here!
Aqua’s songs have so much depth to them that you can create a musical based on one of them. Because of that Lene Nystrøm, René Dif, and Søren Rasted are asking you to do just that.
I am sure that almost everyone is going to go for Barbie Girl because it is Barbie Girl. However, their other songs are just as much fun, like Happy Boys and Girls, which could be a fun psychedelic one. Then there is Doctor Jones that is a contender for Sweeny Todd, Roses are Red can be like Phantom of the Opera, and Back to the ’80s is perfect for a biosical.
Since there is nothing else we can do, why not do what that band wants and create Aqua the Musical
