Somewhere I missed/forgot the memo that Matt Lauer is leaving the Today Show at the end of the contract a year from now, but I guess he might be because The Hollywood Reporter says that Ryan Seacrest has been having meetings about possibly replacing him. While all sides are remaining quiet for now, lots of people are confirming to the trade that they are happening.
I love Seacrest as the host of American Idol and think he can do a good interview, but I am not sure he is cut up to do hard news. We know he knows entertainment and sports (yes sports), but how much does the guy who never sleeps because he is working 24/7 know about hard news? What would he do in a breaking news situation when all the news is about real news and not featurey? When he can prove to me that he can do that then I say he would be great for the job, but for now I think they need to keep looking.
Oh and if he takes on Lauer’s job, does this mean this will be his last year on Idol? If so, the show is in major trouble because no one ca replace the frosted tipped guy.
The good thing for Scott McCreery and Laura Alaina is because they came in #1 and #2 on American Idol, they get to perform live on TV today. The bad thing for them is that they get perform live today.
First up was the American Idol winner who performed at the Macy*s Thanksgiving Day Parade or should I say lipsynced poorly at the parade. Before he mouthed his first note, the words were already heard on the screen. Whoops!
Then Laura Alaina sang the National Anthem at the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions game when she suddenly stopped for a few seconds to remember what line comes out next. Looks like she needed Scotty’s audio track to help her out.
On a positive note, at least now we all remember who they are for the day!
Yesterday Steve Jones took to Twitter and Tweeted, “I thought J-Lo lived in the Bronx and drove around in a Fiat 500? I think I just saw her in Hollywood driving a Lamborghini Gallardo…” As soon as we all saw that commercial, we thought the same thing. I am so happy that someone from The X Factor, American Idol’s fall show on Fox said it because it gives even more validity to what we were thinking.
Seriously she might sing that Jenny from the Block, but who believes she has been back since she left? I am a Bronx girl, and I don’t think she has been back in Da Hood since In Loving Color.
BTW can I tell you with that one treat I am so in love with Steve Jones! Keep Tweeting gems like this and I might actually watch the Fox singing competition just for you!

Back when Paula Abdul was just 7 years old her sister’s friend’s 16 year old boyfriend used to babysit her. That guy might be someone you heard of his because as she told Jimmy Kimmel on his ABC late show last night the name of her babysitter is Michael Bolton. She then told the host that he was as good of a babysitter as his hair was in the ’80s. Well she didn’t say thatexact;y, I did, but it was something along those lines.
One thing she did say that was good about him is that he used to sing her to sleep. And it was his singing that would bring them together later on in their lives when she was old enough to take care of her self without a babysitter. But you have to watch how and she reacted to that meeting in the above interviews.
And the two would be reunited once again on Jimmy Kimmel Live and you have to hear the crooner’s take on babysitting that bratty little girl. Those were his words about her, according to The X Factor host.
