Ryan Seacrest embarrasses himself again
January 14th, 2009 under American Idol 8, Ryan Seacrest. [ Comments: 1 ]

(3:30 in on the bottom video!)

Poor Ryan Seacrest is not having a good week. First on Sunday he was dissed on the red carpet by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt on live TV. Now he was shown trying to high five a blind man who made it through to Hollywood on American Idol. All that bleaching and fake tanning is starting to affect him. Poor Ryan, I still like him even though Brangelina doesn’t!
BTW I thought last night was a bore except for that moment and the new Judge is just as I expected…useless. Hopefully it will get better tonight on Fox at 8p when they go to Kansas City.

American Idol is back tonight!!!
January 13th, 2009 under American Idol 8. [ Comments: none ]

American Idol is back tonight on Fox at 8p for its 8th season and as much as I say I am not going to watch I am so going to watch!!! Tonight starts the audition part of the show and for the next 3 weeks we will have good and bad auditions every Tuesday and Wednesday! I know a lot of people hate these episodes, but I love the bad singers and the way Simon criticizes them!!! The only thing I am not looking forward to is the new Judge, but then again my opinion might change after watching her on the show, but I highly doubt it!
Side Note: National Enquirer is reporting that the new 4th Judge Kara DioGuardi is getting married this summer. Her boyfriend of over a year proposed to her on her birthday and she said yes. She credits her mom for finding her Mr Right,

“I have a place in Maine, and basically he was the general contractor on the house next door to mine,” she said recently. “I met him on the eve of the 10-year anniversary of my mother’s death.
“It was kind of like my mom said, ‘You’ve been dating a lot of dogs lately – I’m going to send you a present.’ “

Kara is having a great year! OK, I am jealous I want a year like that!

American Idol changing things up!

The long rumored changes for American Idol were finally announced today. As we know they added a new Judge, who sounds like she will just be a useless b!tch (they say she is meaner than Simon) and a waste of air. But the other changes I am liking for the most part!!!
There will only be three weeks of auditions instead of 4 and there will be no Thursday shows for now! Next instead of only one week of Hollywood auditions we will get two. Something I think that the show has desperately missing! Next there will be 36 singers who make it to the Semi-finals. For 3 weeks, 12 will perform one night and the top male, female and vote getter will move on to the Top 12. You say that only comes out to 9, well that is because the final 3 will be decided in a wild car round. As you remember that is how we got Clay Aiken!!! Although unlike when Clay made, the Judges will decide who makes it to the Wild Card and who will be the final. I am not liking that change because once they pick their favorite they will shove that person down out throat. As of now the rest of the show will stay the same.
Here is the schedule for the Fox show!!!

Tuesday, Jan. 13 (8:00-10:00 PM) Season Premiere, Part 1
Wednesday, Jan. 14 (8:00-10:00 PM) Season Premiere, Part 2

Thursday, March 5 (8:00-9:00 PM) Wild Card Round – Top 12 Revealed
Tuesday, March 10 (8:00-10:00 PM) Top 12 Finalists Perform

What do you think of the changes? BTW with all these changes, I hope that they get some good singers, otherwise all the changes mean nothing.

Paula Abdul leaving American Idol?
November 13th, 2008 under American Idol 8, Paula Abdul. [ Comments: 6 ]

Could season 8 of American Idol be Paula Abdul's last? Well according to OK! magazine Paula is planning her exit.

According to a source close to the reality judge, Paula, 45, who has been with the show for seven years, is developing new TV projects and is hoping to “transition” out of the Fox hit.

With her fellow judge,  Randy Jackson, telling friends that American Idol has lost its magic, another Paula insider explains, “She knows that every season could be her last. Now she’s got a new secret venture that she’s really excited about.”

After years of wanting Paula off the show, I would now miss her if she was gone because you never know what she is going to bring the Judges' table. Now when it comes to Randy Jackson and the new chick, if they left I wouldn't care. Dog.
BTW I am not sure if OK! got the information before the incident happened with Paula's fan, but I think that would make her want to leave more than she alredy did.

Fox announced today that American Idol will be back with its new Judge on January 13th with a 2 day, 4 hour premiere. They also announced that Fringe will stay on Tuesdays, House is moving to Mondays and Bones goes to Thursdays. Joss Whedon's Dollhouse premieres the day before Valentine's Day, but I don't think this show will get the love it needs.
Back to American Idol are you excited for the new season of singing hopefuls?
