Jessica Lange studied Mime in Paris for years!
November 13th, 2012 under American Horror Story, Jimmy Kimmel. [ Comments: none ]

Jessica Lange was on Jimmy King Live yesterday and she told the ABC late night host that before she was an actress she studied Mime in Paris for many years. But then she decided there was not a great future in Mime, so she moved back to The States, studied acting, landed the job in King Kong and the rest is Hollywood History. Can you imagine what American Horror Story: Asylum would be like without her? Imagine her doing Mime in the streets of Paris instead of being held in the giant hand of an ape as he climbed the Empire State Building? I just can’t do it, it’s like am trapped in an imaginary glass box that I can’t get out of no matter how much I try.
Seriously I think that is one of the most fascinating reveals that I have ever heard a celebrity make, so I had to share it with you. I just wish that Kimmel would’ve gotten her to demonstrate some of the moves she learned in the City of Light.
Maybe now that Ryan Murphy knows her secret, he will get her to do something on the FX show? It is plausible that a lounge singer turned Nun would know Mime, right? Or better yet she could appear on Glee as a Mime teacher at NYADA who teaches Rachel the performing art. And for that episode Lea Michele is just seen, but not heard! I am loving that idea, what about you?

Tonight’s American Horror Story: Asylum has a leg up on the other shows!
November 7th, 2012 under American Horror Story. [ Comments: 1 ]

Last week the final scene on FX’s American Horror Story: Asylum was extremely shocking and tonight at 10p we find out what is next for the now legless Nympho Shelly. Dr Arden has something planned for her and she will never ever be the same. I can’t tell you what that is, but you will want to see what is up next for Chloe Sevigny.
The day after the episode I was on a conference call with Sevigny and she told us, “That’s only the beginning of what happens to Shelley,” the she added, “and it only gets worse for Shelley.” Then she teased us with, “When you see what happens the next few weeks, it’s like it becomes a whole other thing. It was pretty new for me and that’s what made it so exciting and fun to do. I always want to try new things and…pretty cool.” I have seen the next two eps and she ain’t lying.
AHS:A isn’t only about Shelley tonight, there is a new patient at Briarcliff and she is someone whose name we have all heard of. When she see someones who works there, she remember them from years past and her reveal of who they are will leave you speechless. It is another episode that will leave you mad that you have to wait another week for a new episode to find out what happens next.

Tonight’s American Horror Story is the scariest one yet!
October 31st, 2012 under American Horror Story, FX. [ Comments: none ]

Today is Halloween and I guess that is why tonight’s American Horror Story: Asylum on FX at 10p is the scariest one yet. There is a storm coming towards Briarcliff Mental Institution and it is as crazy outside as it is inside. While the Nor’easter is coming their way, the patients will be watching a movie. A few of them will have their brilliant idea of escaping, but things don’t always go as planned… In fact something so shocking will come at the end of the episode that you won’t want to eat of Halloween candy after you see it.
Now I know I am not saying too much about tonight’s episode and that is for two reasons. The first is I don’t want to spoil it for you. The second is I don’t want to relive it because it really scared the sh!t out of me! And there are very TV shows or movies that I can say that have ever done that to me.

American Horror Story: Asylum is insanely good!
October 17th, 2012 under American Horror Story. [ Comments: none ]

Season 2 of American Horror Story debuts on FX tonight at 10p and this season it takes place in an Asylum.
The season starts off in the present with newlyweds Leo (Adam Levine) and Teresa (Jenna Dewan) spending their honeymoon touring the most haunted locations in American. The two of them stop off at Briarcliff, a now deserted mental Asylum, to check out the place. At first it just looks like a run down building with no one inside, but then they hear noises and start to investigate them. That will bring them to a location where something shocking will happen.
Then we will go back to 1964, Kit Walker (Even Peters who played Tate last season) is working at a gas station. We will follow him home where we find out he is married to an African American woman, which for those times is something you would keep secret. Something will happen to them that night that will have him institutionalized at Briarcliff.
When we get out first glimpse of the place we will meet Sister Jude (Jessica Lange), a stern nun who runs the facility. She is not afraid to abuse the patients, and she has a secret past that will shock you. Sister Mary Eunice (Lily Rabe who lost part of her head last season) is Sister Jude’s helper and the new nun still has an innocence about her. Monsignor Timothy Howard (Joseph Fiennes) is the liaison between the Church and the Asylum and is oblivious to what goes on there.
Then there is Dr. Arthur Arden (James Cromwell) who is a sadistic doctor who will use unorthodox treatments on the patients there. So controversial that patients will go missing never to be heard of again. Dr. Oliver Thredson (Zachary Quinto) is a guest to the facility and his methods of treating patients is much different than the way Asylum does as you will see next week when he makes his debut.
Then there are the patients. Lana Winters (Sarah Paulson) is a reporter who goes inside on the pretense she is there to do a story about their bakery, but really wants to talk to Kit Walker. She will sneak in one night and get attacked by one of the patients. She will be held there against her will as a patient because Sister Jude says she needs to be there because she is a lesbian. Sister Jude will blackmail her lover Wendy (Clea Duvall) to have her committed and she will accept her bribe. Shelly the Nymphomaniac (Chloë Sevigny) is just as her nickname describes her. Finally there is Grace (Lizzie Brocheré) she claims she is sane and we don’t know why she is in there.
This season is nothing like the last one. In fact I think it is so much scarier and better; and last season was pretty f*cking awesome. Since I have only seen the first two episodes, it seems like each week we will get to know a new patient and we see what happens to them and learn why they would still haunt the place today. Next week’s story was so scary, I have to admit I hid under the covers as I watched. It is just that terrifying. The show goes to a whole new level of fright this season and it will keep you interested from the first second until the last. Even though you will be scared sh!tless, you won’t be able to turn away from this show and want to know what happens next. I know I can’t freaking wait!
