ABC gets into the Celebrity Dating business
February 18th, 2021 under ABC, Michael Bolton, Zooey Deschanel. [ Comments: none ]

ABC has celebs dancing. Fox has them doing it in a mask. CBS has them living together. And in a few months, ABC is going to have them dating via a classic game show.

Zooey Deschanel will be hosting Celebrity Dating Game with a twist. The suitor asking the questions to the celebrities won’t know their names. However, they will get hints from Michael Bolton, who will sing parody songs about them. Because when a man loves a woman, parodies work best.

Each episode will feature one famous single man and well-known available woman looking for love. They and the three eligible lovers will be either television, music, comedy, reality TV, or feature film stars. I expect a lot of reality stars. However, you never know because a lot of celebs are looking for someone to quarantine with these days.

Rebel Wilson is going to the dogs
January 13th, 2021 under ABC, Rebel WIlson. [ Comments: none ]

Rebel Wilson is coming to ABC, and she will be joined by some bitches. That is because she is hosting the dog grooming competition show Pooch Perfect.

In each of the 8-episodes, 10 of the best dog groomers will give several pups a makeover in themed-challenges.

In the first episode, the ten teams will compete in the Immunity Puppertunity challenge, where one team will earn immunity from elimination. Then, in the Ultimutt Challenge showdown, the remaining teams will face off in an epic grooming transformation, which they will show off on the illustrious dogwalk. The competitions will be judged by Lisa Vanderpump, Jorge Bendersky, and Dr. Callie Harris. I hope they are not too ruff on the pooches.

Then for the season finale, three teams will compete for a lot of bones aka money, and the coveted trophy.

ABC is working on LA Law sequel with Blair Underwood
December 17th, 2020 under ABC. [ Comments: 1 ]

On Tuesday, Fox announced that they were rebooting Fantasy Island. Yesterday. NBC revealed that they are working on a sequel for Night Court with John Larroquette. Today, there is a report that ABC is looking to do a sequel of LA Law with Blair Underwood.

Back when the show originally ran, his character, Jonathan Rollins, was constantly screwed over by the firm’s partners. Now, he is the one running the firm. According to Deadline, the sequel will be about, “The venerable law firm of McKenzie Brackman reinvents itself as a litigation firm specializing in only the most high-profile, boundary-pushing and incendiary cases. Underwood reprises his role as Rollins, who has gone from idealistic to more conservative as he clashes with millennial JJ Freeman to decide the best path forward for the firm to effect political and legal change.”

While the show will focus on the younger lawyers, the site says we should expect to see some familiar faces on LA Law 2.0. We don’t know who, but I am sure Harry Hamlin already left Underwood, who is also a producer, several phone calls.

Would you watch it? Back in August, I binged the series in order to prep for jury duty. While I did not learn any creative ways on how to get out of serving. I did learn that the show was really good. However, the episodes were better when they were produced by David E. Kelley. Therefore, they need to bring someone who worked with Kelley to work on the sequel. He knows how to mix law storyline with madness and make them seem like they are not crazy.
