One of best new shows of the season The Secret Life of the American Teenager is back tonight on ABC Family at 8p. Amy is still pregnant, but when her mom (Molly Ringwald) tells her she is going to get a job and not take care of the baby, Amy decides to do something drastic. Amy tells Ben she wants to get married now. Because the two are minors they need to get fake IDs and once they do the guy they got it from spreads the news and everyone wants fake IDs to go to their wedding. Will Amy and Ben really go through with it and who will go to their wedding?
This episode picked up where the last one left off and we get to see some of the characters deal with some of the complications from the last episode.
The Secret Life of the American Teenager is a great show for parents to watch with their kids because there is so much good messaging on the show and it will lead to parents and teens talking about the issues after the show. The show deals with everything from abstinence to a pregnant teen and everything in between, so you see all sides! So I highly recommend it for parents and teens. But I also suggest it for anyone who wants to watch a good show.
So tune into one of the biggest shows of 2008 tonight and every Monday on ABC Family at 8p!!!
In a modern-day tale of a young girl’s adventure to discover the truth about her family and her own destiny, ABC Family pulls back the veil on the mysterious world of Samurai legends in its new original production, “Samurai Girl.†Starring newcomer Jamie Chung as Heaven, who searches for truth, and Brendan Fehr (“Roswellâ€Â) as Jake, the one who may help her find it, ABC Family will air the six-hour event over three consecutive nights: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 (8:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET/PT), and continuing SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 (8:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET/PT) and SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 (8:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET/PT). The ensemble cast also includes Saige Thompson as Cheryl, Kyle Labine as Otto, Anthony Brandon Wong as Kogo, Steven Brand as Severin, Kenneth Choi as Sato, and features Stacy Keibler as Karen, Heaven’s romantic rival.
Based on a series of popular young-adult novels, “Samurai Girl†follows the journey of 19-year-old Heaven, the sheltered adopted daughter of one of Japan’s wealthiest and most powerful families. Protected and watched over at all times by her loving but enigmatic father, Heaven is raised in opulent but confined surroundings, with every detail of her life tended to and extravagantly provided for in the tradition of Japan’s hierarchal society. But when Heaven finds herself in San Francisco for her arranged wedding to the son of one of her father’s business associates, she has no idea that her protected life is about to be shattered and that her past is linked to an ancient secret prophecy which both good and evil forces will fight to the death to control.
As she reluctantly prepares for her nuptials, Heaven secretly hopes that her beloved brother, Hiko, will make a surprise appearance. As her closest friend in life, Heaven was devastated when Hiko left home after an intense disagreement with their father, bringing shame to the family, in their father’s eyes, and leaving him no choice but to disown his only son. When her father presents Heaven with the family’s ancestral sword, The Whisper of Death, she realizes that her hopes of seeing Hiko again will not come to pass. Saying that the sword represents the family’s undying devotion to the Samurai code of honor and loyalty, her father ignores Heaven’s plea that it should go to her brother, insisting that, because of Hiko’s disobedience, she is now his only heir, so the sword passes to her.
Samurai Girl begins a 3-night event on ABC Family tonight at 7p and what an event it is! I normally do not like Samurai films because I am a girl, but I loved this ABC Family event. Jamie Chung who plays the Samurai Girl is just likable and you are so rooting for her. Saige Thompson and Kyle Labine are awesome as the two people who befriend and help her in San Fransisco. Brendan Fehr does a good job as her teacher! This movie has suspense, friendship and romance and really is a lot of fun to watch and it beautifully shot. Luke McMullen did a great job writing this 3-night event that I hope gets turned into a series for the network.
So tune into Samurai Girl on ABC Family tonight, tomorrow and Sunday at 8p for a 3-night event that has something for everyone.

One of the things I really respect in Hollywood is stars who don’t take their success for granted and enjoy doing what they do! So when I saw this picture of the star of Samurai Girl Jamie Chung and the Executive Producer of the movie Luke McMullen in front of a huge billboard for the movie, I had to share it with you!
So support Jamie and Luke who sincerely appreciate what they do and watch Samurai Girl all three nights on ABC Family starting on September 5th!

ABC Family ordered 13 more episodes of its highest rated show The Secret Life of the American Teenager according to The Hollywood Reporter. This season will get an extra episode and return with 12 more around January. I am glad that ABC Family realized they have a true gem with this show and picked up before it even was on for a month.
If you haven’t seen it check it on Tuesdays at 8p on ABC Family.
