Prime Video let Carrie’s story be told in a much longer way than just a movie, with a series. Because of that, they changed the ending, which gave them the opportunity to give the show more seasons. Today, 15 days after the premiere, the streamer announced she will be back for a second season.
“For 50 years, audiences have known and gravitated to Carrie White’s story. From the beginning, we imagined a story that goes far beyond the prom, and I’m incredibly grateful for Stephen’s trust and support in exploring what comes next,” said showrunner Mike Flanagan.
Since the first season ended shortly after the prom, which was also where the book ended, the next season will be new territory for Carrie White.
I am not the only one who is curious what happens next. Carrie’s original author and Executive Producer Stephen King said, “I can’t wait for audiences to get to see what’s down the road for Carrie White. Mike Flanagan and I are excited about what comes next. It’s bound to be thrilling.”
All of episodes of Carrie are streaming now. You can read my review here.
