In 2005, Carrie Underwood’s life changed forever when she won American Idol. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of that win, she is taking it back to where it all began. According to Deadline, she is expected to be announced as the new judge on American Idol.
Katy Perry left the singing competition at the end of last season to focus on her music career. Thus leaving an empty chair at the judges’ table.
Several names were thrown around as replacements, including Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, P!nk, and Meghan Trainor. But they opted to go with American Idol’s Top Selling artist.
So, she is the logical choice, and she will bring her massive fanbase with her.
Personally, I find her as exciting as watching paint dry. Hopefully, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie will get her to let loose.
