Banana Ball has become a national sensation by making our national pastime fun! But how much do we know about the baseball league that added singing, dancing, and excitement to their lineup? I have been a fan of the Savannah Bananas for over five years, and even I don’t know much about Banana Ball except that the six teams bring joy to millions of people, including me!
Next year, we are getting The Banana Ball Film, which is going to tell their story from their early days in a deserted Savanah ballfield to sold-out crowds across the country, including at Walt Disney World Resort. Their fairytale will be told by the people who have been living the dream. The movie also includes 11 original songs from EGOT songwriters Pasek & Paul.
Along with announcing the documentary, the league revealed next season’s schedule. The six teams, Savannah Bananas, Party Animals, Firefighters, Texas Tailgaters, Loco Beach Coconuts, and the Indianapolis Clowns, will open the season on April 15th-18th at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney near Orlando.
That is the first stop. There are many more games being played between February and September throughout North America. You can register to join the ticket lottery from now until October 31st at BananaBall.com to be one of the first people to get tickets to their games that sell out.
The documentary will premiere in the Summer and stream on Disney+ and Hulu in the Fall. I can’t wait to learn more about my favorite baseball teams!
