Out of all the commercials that aired yesterday during the big football game, everyone is talking about Tubi’s advertisement. That is because, as a Fox entity, they were able to get Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen to pretend that they had come back from a commercial break. As the two sportscasters were talking, all of a sudden, a menu popup screen came up and switched the screen from the Super Bowl to Tubi.
Well, fans all over the country thought it was real and started screaming at their sweet old moms, throwing salsa all over the place, and hitting their televisions. Only to realize it was a prank done by the best streaming service out there.
So did you fall for it also, or did you know they were messing with us? Since I have stupid television with an Amazon Firestick, I knew it was a commercial. Yeah, that’s it.
Oh, and when I majored in advertising at college, they taught us that there is no such thing as bad publicity. Whatever gets you talking about the products is a good thing, even if it came out of a bad thing.
