November 29th, 2023 under Alfonso Ribeiro, Dancing with the Stars

Yesterday was the semifinals of Dancing with the Stars. And we were expecting the five remaining contestants to go down to four at the end of the show. However, Alfonso Ribeiro revealed in the final moments of the episode that no one was going home and that Alyson Hannigan, Ariana Madix, Xochitl Gomez, Charity Lawson, and (my favorite) Jason Mraz will all be competing in the finals on Tuesday.

If you are a conspiracy theorist, then you would assume that they are doing this because Alyson Hannigan was not the one who was eliminated, and the show’s producers didn’t want to have the finale without the person who was.

You see, Hannigan was the only one who did not get a perfect score for at least one of her dances yesterday. She is also the weakest one of the five. So it would make sense that she would be the one that should have been sent home.

But our theory was wrong. Or at least that is what Ribeiro said on The Talk today. “I felt really bad for Xochitl [Gomez] and Ariana Madix because I knew this was happening for a full week.” He added, “We’re taking over all of primetime for ABC next Tuesday night. So, it’s going to be a super-filled show, and so having five couples is fantastic.”

So, who does the former winner think will win? “They are all so deserving. And I think this season is slightly different than a lot of seasons.” Then he explained in the past, “You’ve got people, and it’s like that’s your winner. Everyone else is playing to see where they finish. Right now, truly, I believe, for many different reasons, any one of them can win. Right, for different reasons. And so, it is really hard when you are seeing them, and you are like, well, who’s got this? Well, they all deserve the opportunity to be there.”

So why should we tune in because yesterday feels like a wash? Ribeiro said that this week’s votes and scores will be calculated with next week’s totals.

And at this point, Gomez is in first place, and Hannigan is in last, with just nine points separating them.

Who do you think will bring home the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy? Tell me in the comments.
