Almost all of the late night hosts got their starts doing standup. Therefore, it is hard for them to do their nightly monologues without an audience and their laughter.
Now that competition shows are using canned laughter and fake applauds, Seth Meyers thought he would try it out on the Late Night show yesterday.
How did it go? It would go better for him if he used someone else besides Stage Manager Tom Ucciferri operate the machine. However, for us, it works better if Ucciferri is the man behind the machine. He has the best timing for Meyer’s jokes.

I like Seth Meyers but in recent days have become aware of laugh tracks being used. Not ‘funny’ and not needed. Just very annoying I do not need to be prompted to laugh. Puleeze stop it.

I really like your show Seth but I can’t stand the canned laughter. I hope you will stop this quickly.
