Weird Al Yankovic had his first #1 album with Mandatory Fun and sounds like he is ready change careers after that accomplishment. After the singer played in a Celebrity Baseball game over the weekend, he declared on Instagram, “Now that I’ve fulfilled my record contract, I’ve decided to quit the music biz and go into professional sports full-time. Hope that was the right call. #BigSlickKC.”
Is it the right call? No! He will strike out if he does. If he wants to score a touchdown on the field, then he should sing his tune Sports Song until he is sick of sports. Otherwise he is committing more than Word Crimes, he will be committing a crime against nature of music. Artists are flattered to have him rework their chart toppers and us fans look forward to it.
