One of the good things about an animated show is that no one ever dies. Well, almost no one. There have been a few deaths, and now there is one more character who has been erased.
Family Guy said goodbye to someone who has brought us a lot of laughs throughout the years. Who is it? It is Ernie, the Giant Chicken.
You might remember him from all of the epic fights that he has had with Peter Griffin since season 1. The ones that went on and on and on.
However, it was not Peter who took him out. Who was it? It was Meg, and we didn’t even see the fight that left Ernie without a head.
You see, she was dating his son, Nugget, and decided to move in with them when her father disapproved of their relationship. Then, when Ernie turned out to be like her dad, she turned him into Hot Ones food.
Now, you might be saying, but how do we really know he went to the chicken coop in the sky?
Executive producer Alec Sulkin told TV Line, “I think that the chicken has gone the way of all flesh. Honestly, I feel like we got so many great set pieces out of the giant chicken fighting with Peter that they became hard to top. It’s a lot to ask of our production crew, and we may have just gotten the best out of that character.”
While we might be saying goodbye to him, I hope that Nugget becomes obsessed with revenge and goes after the Griffins. Just so we can hear him say, “Hello! My Name is Nugget Chicken. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”
