Billy Porter joined Cabaret in July, but he has not been saying willkommen to audiences since August 29th. The actor had to bow out because of an illness.
The Kit Kat Club announced today, “Due to a serious case of sepsis, Billy Porter must also withdraw from the production. His doctors are confident that he will make a full recovery but have advised him to maintain a restful schedule.”
The Broadway musical was slated to close on October 19th. However, because the show lost its star, the curtain will go down for a final time on September 21st.
Hopefully, Porter will be better soon and back dazzling audiences once again.
