January 14th, 2025 under Fast Food

For the last few years, Starbucks has had an open-door policy. That meant that you were able to sit in the coffee shop or use the bathroom without purchasing anything. But that will no longer be the case starting on January 27th.

Starbucks now says, “We want to ensure our spaces are prioritized for use by our customers. Our Coffeehouse Code of Conduct is something most retailers have and is designed to provide clarity that our spaces – including our cafes, patios and restrooms – are for use by customers and partners.”

So, if you want to use the wireless or toilet for free, that is no longer the case. You are going to have to order something in order to use their facilities.

“We want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable in our stores,” Starbucks spokesperson Jaci Anderson said. “By setting clear expectations for behavior and use of our spaces, we can create a better environment for everyone.”

Well, everyone who pays!

What has happened to Starbucks? I had thought they were the one corporation that put employees first by providing a living wage, benefits like college tuition, 401k/pension, etc.

All I read any more is that they pay crap, long hours, no benefits to the point that there are routine strikes, and now they have to be restaurant police to keep people from freeloading off the wi-fi and using the bathroom?

Really?

How BAD is Starbucks? Really?
