Back in January, Princess Catherine underwent a planned abdominal surgery. Since the operation, the 42-year-old has not been seen. Therefore, people have been coming up with conspiracy theories about why she was missing.
Today, Kate Middleton recorded a video message to give us an update about her health.
The Princess said at the time of the surgery, the doctors thought there was no cancer involved. However, after they did the testing, they found out that she did have cancer.
Her doctors advised her to undergo preventative chemotherapy, and she is in the early stages of her treatment. The reason why the treatment was delayed is because she needed time to heal from her original surgery, which she says was major.
She then explained, “…it has taken us [she and Prince William] time to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I am going to be OK. As I have said to them, I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal in my mind, body, and spirit.”
The future Queen then asked for privacy during this difficult time for herself and her young family. She will also return to Royal duties when she is healthy enough to do so.
Lastly, she wants to thank everyone who has supported her family with lovely messages and prayers.
We will continue to pray for her and that she has a full recovery so that she can see her three children grow up and have families of their own.
The Princess is not the only member of the British Royal Family diagnosed with cancer in 2024. King Charles III and Sarah, Duchess of York, were both diagnosed in February. The King’s cancer has not been disclosed, while Fergie revealed that she is battling skin cancer just months after beating breast cancer.
