The Nebraska Humane Society rescued three kittens who were infested with fleas. One of them lost so much blood that it needed a transfusion. But it would take time to find a feline match. So they needed a dog to do it. Because did you know canines can donate to cats?
And that is where Bret Michaels comes in. Not that Bret Michaels, but the 6-year-old husky who is also in the shelter. Being the good boy that he is, he gave his blood and saved that kitty’s life.
Well, when Bret Michaels, that Bret Michaels, heard that story, he decided he wanted to adopt that hero dog. So he did.
And now Bret Michaels, the dog, gets his Rock Star ending with plenty of bandanas to wear.

The moral of this story is to name the pets who need homes after famous people so that they will adopt them. Well, I wouldn’t name any of the dogs after Michael Vick, but other than that, we are good.
