Back in April, Jamie Foxx was hospitalized for a mysterious “medical complication.” Since then, we haven’t heard from him. And since the private actor was silent, people spread misinformation about his condition.
Over the weekend, the actor broke his silence and confirmed and denied some of the rumors.
The 55-year-old confirmed that there were times they didn’t know if he would make it, but his daughter, sister, and doctors fought for him, and he survived.
“I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through and I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you I just didn’t want you to see me like that man,” he said. “I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”
But he did. And despite the rumors, he is not blind or paralyzed. Foxx confirmed that in a way only he can.
However, he is a changed man. He is not afraid to cry anymore because he is so grateful to be alive and for all of the love that was shown to him while he was in the hospital getting better.
He is on his way back, and he is already working. Because, as they say, you can’t keep a good man down.
