On Sunday night, Bebe Rexha was playing a show in Manhattan, and everyone was enjoying the concert. However, there is always that one guy.
That one guy was Nicolas Malvagna, 27, and he allegedly threw his phone at the singer. The cell phone hit her left eyebrow, and the injury left her bruised with three stitches and in pain.
So why did he do it? According to a criminal complaint, he allegedly told another concertgoer, “I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny.”
However, his lawyer, Todd Spodek, told NBC News in a statement, “As a fan, Mr. Malvagna’s sole intention was to have Ms. Rexha take photos with his phone, and return it as a keepsake. It was never his intention to injure Ms. Rehxa.”
Malvagna plead not guilty, and his next court date is July 31st. If he is convicted, he could be sentenced to up to a year in prison. Who’s laughing now?
