Drew Barrymore has a reason to cry and smile
January 11th, 2024 under Drew Barrymore. [ Comments: none ]

Drew Barrymore started the day off crying by rewatching The Wedding Singer. And it made her cry because it was such a good movie. And you know how it ended!

But her day got better because CBS picked up The Drew Barrymore Show for a fifth season.

“‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ is firing on all cylinders this season,” McMahon said. “Drew continues to catapult the show into the cultural zeitgeist with her empathetic and thoughtful interviews transporting viewers into her living room, where they feel like they are listening to a conversation between two friends that they are a part of. It’s an experience unlike any other in television. Drew is truly creating magic in daytime, and we’re thrilled to continue to bring that to our stations.”

Congrats to Drew for continuing to entertain us! Can you believe she has been doing it for over 40 years?

The Good Doctor is checking out this season

ABC announced today that this season of The Good Doctor will be the series’ last.

“The Good Doctor has been a once in a lifetime opportunity, but it’s time to say goodbye, co-showrunners David Shore and Liz Friedman and fellow executive producer Erin Gunn said in a statement. “We are incredibly proud of the work we’ve done and the message we’ve been privileged to be a part of. We look forward to giving our fantastic fans, the truly extraordinary Freddie Highmore, the rest of our talented actors (and friends), and the best crew in the business the series ending that you all deserve. Thank you, Sony; thank you, ABC; thank you all.”

It has been time for a while, but at least it is getting a swan song to properly say goodbye. Although there were some seasons, I was like, please put it out of my misery. But last season wasn’t one of those.

The Good Doctor is not the only show ending its run on ABC. This is also Station 19’s final one. And I am sure more shows will be joining them, like The Conners.

The farewell season debuts on February 20th.

RIP Fruit Stripe Gum
January 10th, 2024 under Junk Food. [ Comments: none ]

Back when I was a kid, I remember chewing Fruit Strip Gum. I don’t remember what it tasted like. And that could be because the flavor went away after just a few bites.

And now that mysterious flavor that has been around since 1969 will be lost in time forever. That is because Ferrara Candy has discontinued the bubblegum. “We have made the difficult decision to sunset Fruit Stripe Gum, but consumers may still be able to find the product at select retailers nationwide,” a representative for the company wrote in a statement to Food & Wine.

Are you going to miss the chewing gum? Tell me in the comments.

Before Charles Easten was playing the Grand Ole Opry on Nashville, he was played Sale of the Century. How good was the 23-year-old on the game show in 1988?
