Screen legend Jane Russell passed away today at the age of 89 according to KCOY. She was known for her roles in movies like Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Gentlemen Marry Brunettes and The Outlaw, but the younger generations will remember her from the Playtex ads. What you might not know about her is she founded Women’s Adoption International Fund (WAIF) which “is responsible for placing over 40,000 hard to place children in permanent homes.” She is leaving behind an amazing legacy both in front and behind the cameras. So today take some time and watch one of her classic movies in her honor and keep her spirit alive.
Before Yvonne Strahovski had some interesting missions on Chuck, she had one interesting one on Double the Fist. She looks exactly the same now as she did when she was 21 in that 2004 episode.
Yesterday After the Oscars Tom Hanks was on Jimmy Kimmel Live and the two-time Oscar winner shared with the host video of him on upcoming episode of Toddlers and Tiaras. Who knew Forrest Gump was such a pageant dad to his daughter Sophie? Especially since we didn’t even know he had a daughter? Either way he was very serious about her winning the Miss Ultimate Sexy Baby Nevada title and sadly he lost to his longtime directing bosom buddy Ron Howard. Even though both actors have two Oscars each, Opie Cunningham’s daughter Rhonda has one title that Buffy/Kip Wilson would die for…and that is Miss Ultimate Sexy Baby. Maybe next year will be his, I mean his daughter’s year.
BTW good to see that Hanks’ Bosom Buddies training for dressing like a woman prepared him to be such a perfect pageant dad!!! That or as Sophie said, he really wants to be a Pageant Queen? I am thinking the latter!
The moment Lady Gaga’s little monsters have been waiting for…the release of her music video for Born This Way. Let’s just say the video starts off like a birthing video and you have the same feeling watching it as if you were watching an actual one. In fact there were several times throughout the video, I threw up in my mouth thinking of the 2 minute opening.
Once the music starts I felt like I was watching a Madonna meets Britney Spears music video. The moves were Britney’s and the transition and feel were like Madonna one.
So I guess you can say she did express herself…like a birthing mother, Madonna and Britney Spears.
Now having said all of that, I kind of liked the music part of the video.
