"Project Runway’s" Tim Gunn will put his fashion savvy to good, satirical use during February sweeps on "Ugly Betty." The fashion-design show’s father figure will appear in two "Betty" episodes, scheduled to air Feb. 1 and 8. He’ll be playing a Fashion TV reporter who covers a controversy that erupts during the Mode fashion week runway show, which takes place during the Feb. 1 installment. That episode will also feature last year’s "American Idol" runner-up, Katharine McPhee, as one of the runway show’s celebrity guests. Gunn, who heads the department of fashion design at New York’s Parsons The New School for Design, has become a fan favorite over three seasons of "Project Runway" on Bravo. He acts as a mentor and taskmaster for the contestants and, via a blog on the show’s web site, also acts as a conduit to fans. Recognizing his appeal, Bravo announced last week that it’s giving Gunn his own show. "Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style" will help the fashion-challenged solve their style dilemmas. There’s no word yet on a premiere date.
The Coroner in the Bahamas will conduct a formal inquest into the death of Anna Nicole Smith’s son. TMZ has learned one of the witnesses will testify that Howard K. Stern gave Anna’s son one of the drugs that killed him. The inquest will be held on March 26. We’re told more than 20 witnesses will be called, including Smith and Stern. A source in the coroner’s office says one of the witnesses will testify that Stern allegedly gave Daniel methadone. And we’re told that the witness will testify that Stern flushed the remaining methadone down the toilet after Daniel died. Daniel was found dead in the hospital room in which Anna Nicole had given birth. He had a combination of seven drugs in his system, including multiple anti-depressants and methadone. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the police have interviewed both Anna Nicole Smith and Howard K. Stern in connection with Daniel’s death. The Coroner made a quick decision to hold the inquiry after getting the police file on the case last Friday. A call to Stern was not immediately returned.
AMERICAN IDOL winner TAYLOR HICKS hates his first hit single DO I MAKE YOU PROUD? because it makes him feel like a karaoke singer. The 29-year-old silver-haired star wanted to release a song he had written before he won the competition, but was over-ruled. His long-time producer, WILL SMITH of Baldwin Entertainment in Nashville, Tennessee, tells American publication In Touch, "He wants to be known as a songwriter, not a karaoke singer." Smith says Hicks wanted to release THE FALL, a song he wrote and recorded about breaking up with a girlfriend four years ago. He adds, "Even the lyric, ‘I climbed the ladder, you took the fall’ fits with the American Idol contest. "I’m not trying to slam the show, but every important critic has slammed the goofy single, and, by extension, Taylor." Smith is now trying to make his case for The Fall by releasing the song to radio stations and letting Hicks’ fans hear it for themselves."
OMG! WTF? He would not be releasing anything if it was not for American Idol, so he needs to get down on his knees and be thankful for the chance he is having right now. Because when his album comes out in a few months, no one will be buying it.
He needs to get some Grecian-Formula and make himself look like a 29 year old man and not a 55 year old man.
Fox has apologized for showing a T-shirt with the slogan “f()ck da Eagles” in primetime during its coverage of the New Orleans Saints/Philadelphia Eagles NFL playoff game Saturday, Jan. 13. Unlike much live TV programming these days, the game had no delay. “It was unintentional, inadvertent, and we apologize,” said Fox Sports spokesman Dan Bell. The Parents Television Council has asked its members to complain to the FCC about the on-camera profanity, saying it had “no doubt” it was intentional. But the FCC would be unlikely to act on that or any other profanity complaints until a federal court has ruled on a challenge by broadcasters, including Fox, to its new profanity-enforcement policy.
