Mel B has invited the Spice Girls to her Los Angeles home to celebrate her pregnancy. The singer has told pals that she is determined to host a huge baby shower and take her mind off her split from actor Eddie Murphy. A source told the Daily Star: "The party will take her mind off Eddie’s latest antics. She will invite all her family and friends to fly over as well as the Spice Girls." Mel was dumped by Murphy earlier this month. He has reportedly demanded a DNA test to confirm that he is the father of her baby.

Paris Hilton has asked Britney Spears to be her bridesmaid, according to a report. The Simple Life star has agreed to marry Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos in 2007 and apparently spoke about her plans at the Smashbox Cosmetics Holiday in West Hollywood this week. "It’s true, I am going to get married," the Daily Star quotes Hilton as saying. "I want a fairytale wedding and Britney’s going to be my matron of honour. She can advise me." A friend added: "There’s no date set but she’s adamant she’d want a wedding in Los Angeles and also a big celebration over in Greece."

American superstar Michael Jackson has postponed a pricey Tokyo Christmas event to next year so he could add another date to his schedule to meet fans, organizers said. Jackson had been set to appear in a December 19 "Premium Christmas Party" for 1,600 fans in an event to include dancers, a band and gospel singers. According to an Internet notice, the event, renamed as "Premium V.I.P. Party," has been rescheduled to March 8 and will offer more tickets at high prices. For 400,000 yen ($3,428), 300 "platinum" ticket holders can "meet and greet" Jackson and have a picture taken with the star. The ticket will include food, drinks and a glass of champagne. Jackson himself will not perform and will watch the show from a special VIP area, the advertisement said. He will also make some brief remarks. Previously, 200 platinum tickets were on offer. In an additional "Fan Appreciation Day" event on the following day, tickets costing 15,000 yen will allow fans to view a show of dancers performing to Jackson’s hit songs while the star watches from a special area.

Cameron Diaz has become the latest star to say she is worried about the influence of ultra-skinny celebrities. Her comments echo those of Billie Piper and Kate Winslet, who both criticised the phenomenon. The Hollywood actress, 34, tells ITV1 show Parkinson: "I think it’s terrifying, it’s tragic and sad. "I think that it’s a sickness, something that’s going on in someone’s head where their perspective is off. "We get ideals from images that we see and there certainly should be more responsibility put on those people who are putting those images out into the world. "Let’s be a little bit more responsible to what’s realistic." She adds: "I’m a skinny girl, so all my life all I have ever wanted to be is curvaceous and voluptuous, have everything falling out everywhere. "Some people … their perception and their perspective is completely askew."
