Sacha Baron Cohen has done something he hasn’t done since he began promoting Bruno, he did the Late Show with David Letterman as himself. After watching Sacha and not Bruno do the interview, I have to say it wasn’t as funny in fact it was borderline boring. I wonder why he changed things up? Like did Letterman’s people tell him they wouldn’t do the interview if he was Bruno? Just seems so weird to see him as is and not as the character for the movie he is promoting that out is on Friday? Did anyone else find it weird?
i haven’t seen the full interview yet. but i am intrigued as well..
but i think it’s great that at least we get to know some behind-the-scenes info on the movie.
i totally agree!! it was underwhelming to say the least. i have a feeling that dave wouldn’t do the interview if he was Bruno…

Do you expect every actor to do interviews in character? I thought it was a very funny interview and it was actually refreshing to see Sacha as himself.

I dont think they aloud him to be Bruno in this interview, so no, I dont think its weird. I actually like it, I was getting really sick of Bruno a month ago and stopped paying attention to him.

He’s done so much promoting as Bruno already, I think it’s time to allow him a moment to enjoy his success, and just be himself for people.

Boring? That was a fantastic piece of how to be funny and create unique comedy.
How many times can you watch Bruno do “gay face” until it loses its pointed societal critique. Baron Cohen is a great comedic mind and I love hearing how he crafts these fake realities that exposes the most ridiculous issues in modern culture..
Being himself is refreshing…one should try to concentrate to enjoy the finer points sublte comedy can offer.

After Letterman ripped Joaquin Phoenix for staying in his ridiculous “BYE GOOD” Hollywood character on the show, SBC probably thought it was smarter to show some respect.
i loved it! i was always curious about his real voice. whether or not he had a brit accent

Um…it’s sad to see people jump on the Bruno bandwagon and think that’s all this brilliant man has ever done. Ali-G was one of the best shows in the last 10 years! He played all 3 characters and was always genius. People said before the interview began he was straighter than straight. Then BOOM! He goes into character and blows everyone away!

You should type OMG a couple more times to get your point across.

Nah, it’s nice to see him be really funny just as himself, no shtick.
