That is because Variety is reporting Mike Richards is in “advanced negotiations to become permanent host of Jeopardy!” However, Sony says they are looking at several candidates, and no decision has been made
The news did not go over well in the world of social media because they want Levar Burton or Mayim Bialik to get the job. I am still rooting for Neil DeGrasse Tyson, who never filled in as guest host.
When it comes to Richards, I was shocked to read in the article that he hosted High School Reunion and Beauty and the Geek. I honestly don’t remember him hosting either show or that the shows even had a host. I think that says a lot about how memorable he is.
Also, once you transition into a behind-the-scenes role, it is hard to go in front of the camera again. He will be a nightmare to work with because he will be a know it all. Talent needs to be reigned in by the boss. But when you have been boss, no one can tell you what to do. At least that is my experience.
