While starting a new job is nerve wracking for anyone, it is even tougher for a news anchor because you get to see them do it. Well for A.J. Clemente it was even worse because the first words the viewers heard come from his mouth in his new job were f*cking sh!t as his co-anchor was introducing him. After the newscast he Tweeted, “That couldn’t have gone any worse!” Then he added, “Tough day,Thanks for the support,We all make mistakes. Im truly sorry for mine. I’ll try my hardest to come back better and learn from this.”
Well this story takes a sad turn because today he Tweeted, “Unfortunately KFYRTV has decided to let me go. Thank you to them and everyone in ND for the opportunity and everyone for the support.” Then he added with a little sense of humor, “Rookie mistake. I’m a free agent.Cant help but laugh at myself and stay positive.Wish i didnt trip over my “Freaking Shoes” out of the gate.”
I think it is bullsh!t that KFYR in Bismark, ND fired him after one bad newscast. They gave him less than 24 hours to prepare for the job and then when he messes up, they fire him. Last week John King went to air with erroneous information about the Boston Marathon Bombers and he is still working at CNN. To me what he did is so much worse. Curse words are not as bad as misinformation, but that is just me. I believe it is more important to punish people for not practicing proper jo.J urnalism than it is if they say a curse word on the air.
I am sure A.J. will wind up some where better before he knows! I mean he is national star and what news station wouldn’t want to have him on his air.
